After landing in San Jose, Casa Tranquilo is located along the Pacific Coast in the southern zone of Costa Rica, just 15 minutes south of Uvita, Playa Ballena (The Whale's Tail) and 5 minutes south of Ojochal. Casa Tranquilo provides guests with serenity and solitude, while minutes from the conveniences of everyday Costa Rican life. 2 minutes off costanera 34 and another 2-minute drive, once inside the secure, gated community of Pacific Estates. Casa Tranquilo is positioned on the edge of its 4 acre (16,000 sq. metres) property of untouched rain forest. Along the edge and below the property, one can listen to the gentle and relaxing run of the Coronado River.
Construction of Casa Tranquilo just completed in June 2023, the house offers its guests, approximately 2800 square feet of elegant and contemporary living. There are 4 bedrooms, 2 of which offer ensuite bathrooms and King-sized beds. Each ensuite bedroom also has a 55" 4K High-Definition Smart TV. The other 2 bedrooms hosting Queen-sized beds. All beds allow the guests the comfort of orthopedic mattresses, and hypo-allergenic pillows. There are 4 full bathrooms in all. Each bedroom has balcony access, one balcony which is shared. The main floor is spacious for ease of traffic flow without interruption. The living room has 2 sofa beds which open up to full queen-sized beds. As well, a 55" 4K High-Definition Smart TV. The kitchen is generous in size with all major appliances. And a laundry room complete with full sized washer and dryer.
The outdoor patio leads all guests to the private, full sized, double edge infinity pool. Swimmers can feel like they're swimming right into the rain forest. All with a mountain scape as the backdrop. The patio itself offers its guests with a barbecue and outdoor dining, pool lounging/tanning and a place for conversation. Around the corner, outside the kitchen, there's a Cape Cod style breakfast area. A perfect private place and a perfect way to start the day.

Casa Tranquilo is but a 6â7-minute drive to the closest beach. There are approximately a dozen beaches, all within a 30-minute drive. Each beach offering something a little different, whether it's surfing, hiking, horseback riding, or simply chilling. Amazing, Best in Class restaurants can be found only 5-10 minutes away. Some restaurants offering the best in views to compliment your dining pleasure. There is a full size, 9-hole golf course measuring 3650 yards, only 10 minutes away. Play 9 or double up and get in 18! One of Costa Rica's premium ziplines is only 15 minutes south of the property. And YES, the latest in recreational activities, Pickleball, is only a 5-6 minute drive away.
Mangrove tours, ATV Tours, Whale (seasonal) watching, horseback riding, deep sea fishing, all within short drives from the property. And there's so much more than this! If wanting to explore further down to Panama is on the "must see" list, the border is only about 90 minutes away from the property.
If hanging out around the property is the preference of the day, the gated community offers varied hiking opportunities. Whether one prefers walking the flat area of the property or hiking up some pretty steep hills, there's something for everyone in the quest to maintain their fitness levels. Or quite simply, taking in the beauty of the property. As well, there's a community center point, where there's a large yoga deck. Finding inner peace while stretching/exercising, one can find relaxation of the flowing waterfall in the background. Below the waterfall itself, available only in the dry season, there's a swimming hole to lounge in, before or after your yoga session.
All amenities are available when booking Casa Tranquilo. Car rental, private taxi, all tours and events, "in home" chef service, can all be arranged before or during the stay. If renting a vehicle, it's strongly recommended that guests rent a 4 x 4. While most of the drive is relatively flat, the final drive to the property is fairly steep. As well, there are some fantastic restaurants and tourist areas which offer some spectacular sightlines. However, many of these are accessible only with 4 x 4 vehicles. In short, you really got to have a 4 x 4 in order to truly enjoy the beauty and splendor, that is Costa Rica.
