Excellent communication even over the Christmas holiday! They even had a beautiful tree set up to welcome us for Christmas! The little cottage was so warm and inviting! We are both in hospitality and never get a break! The cottage was a perfect to relax and unwind!

Hill country getaway

We usually come to Fredericksburg multiple times a year with our kids as well. This cute cottage has an amazing location and is so comfortable! My kiddos enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor area, the house was clean and true to listing description. Had everything we needed and will definitely be back! Thanks so much for hosting our family, and we truly appreciate the communication throughout our stay!

Idle wild cottage

Great location and amenities

The property was extremely well kept and had a great location. The neighborhood was cute and was less than a mile from Main Street which was a great amenity. The decorations and style of the house was very nice and the beds were both extremely comfortable. I would recommend this house for a visit to Fredericksburg and would rebook if we ever returned to the area. Thank you.

Fredericksburg Elopement Getaway

My fiancée and I had an elopement planned for 5/27/25 in Fredericksburg. We found Idle Wild Cottage and it was the perfect size for us. The neighborhood is very close to Main Streets and we were able to do some great shopping and dining. We are avid runners and the neighborhood provided easy to map roads for distance. Joe is a wonderful, helpful host. When we got back home from our vacation, I realized that I forgot to pack some of our clothes. Joe is so gracious to help get our belongings back to us. We had a wonderful time and will definitely book Idle Wild again on our next visit.

Great stop on our Texas road trip!

My wife and I had a great two-night stay at the Idle Wild Cottage in Fredericksburg. It is about 1 mile away from Main Street - making it conveniently located, but just far enough away from the crowds. The owner was very attentive and checked in to make sure that everything was in order upon our arrival.The cottage was immaculately clean and had a lot of whimsical decor and vintage touches. The new kitchen was my wife's favorite part of the cottage! She loved the seafoam green vintage vibe refrigerator. The cottage has plenty of silverware and dishes, and it has a washer/dryer that was perfect for washing some of our clothes that got a bit dusty on the Enchanted Rock Trail. The cottage has a fire pit and includes firewood. It also has a large covered hot tub, but we ran out of time to use it. We were happy to find such a quaint dog-friendly cottage, and our two small pups enjoyed their stay as well! Thank you for everything!
