Shiloh by the Sea is an absolute must place to stay for an experience you will always remember. It's a very unique home with all the modern amenities, while preserving the original structure and character. The kitchen is fully modernized to make meal prep easy. The living room area is comfortable with plenty of seating. For your entertainment, this home has WiFi to stream all your favorite TV shows and movies. Built in 1894, this 130-year-old unique historical home survived the "The 1900 Storm" that destroyed Galveston and Hurricane Ike that ravaged the Bolivar Peninsula in 2008. This two-story home has 5 bedrooms and 2 full and a half bathrooms. Shiloh by the Sea comfortably sleeps 21 guests. This home is also pet-friendly with a $200 non-refundable pet fee. With the entire house being constructed of cypress wood, from floor beams to roof joists, there are to be no open flames inside the house, no grilling on the decks, and no fires anywhere near the house.
To help preserve the original structure of the home, window units are used to keep guests cool and comfortable. Every room has a window unit and a ceiling fan. There are electric heaters to keep you warm on those chilly days!
Decks that wrap around 3 sides of the house are perfect for porch conversations! The upper deck provides you with a beautiful vista of this home's surroundings. The first bedroom on the main floor has a king bed with an attached bathroom. Also on the main floor are a full bathroom and a half bathroom. The remaining bedrooms are on the upper floor. Bedroom 2 has a king bed, bedroom three has 2 queen beds and a single bed. Bedroom four has a king, a queen, and a full/full bunk bed. Finally, the fifth bedroom has a queen and a full-size bed.
This property is an acre of fun in the sun with plenty of outdoor space for family time and activities. There is a box on the deck that contains balls and activity equipment, as well as a nearby shed with even more games and equipment, such as volleyball, cornhole, and giant Jenga, to name a few! A Gazebo is conveniently located for outdoor seating, which also includes gas and charcoal grills for your use. Party lights on the decks create a magical air that's perfect for dancing under the stars. There is also a fire pit that screams, "S'MORES!" For convenience, an outdoor rinse station is on the deck by the ramp. This ramp can be used for wheelchair access or as a loading ramp. This home is perfect for large gatherings or family reunions. We provide linens and bath towels in every house. All standard beds are made before your arrival. Paper products and cleaning supplies are not included.
Even when provided, internet access, and TV/cell service can be unreliable on the Bolivar Peninsula. We are a rural community. We apologize, but Bolivar Escapes Cannot Guarantee that these amenities will be working during your stay. We Cannot Offer Refunds for the disruption of these services. This home might have an outdoor camera(s) to monitor the exterior. Any attempt at disabling, redirecting, or obscuring the camera(s) is prohibited and may result in the guest being evicted without refund of outstanding nights' rent. If a home has a lift or elevator, it is not for renter use unless otherwise stated in comments or with permission from Bolivar Escapes.
