Bear Paws - Situé à quelques minutes du centre-ville de Gatlinburg, de l'Ober Gatlinburg Ski Lodge et du parc national Great Smoky Mountain. «Bear Paws» est à environ 5 km du centre-ville de Gatlinburg, dans la communauté de Chalet Village.

Le grand terrain boisé offre une excellente beauté et le bruit est pratiquement inexistant dans ce domaine. Le chalet est un beau cadre en A modifié de 3 étages avec 3 niveaux complets. Vous profiterez de 2 foyers au bois (1 dans le salon principal et 1 dans la salle de jeux). 4 chambres privées pour accueillir confortablement 8 personnes. Il y a 2 chambres au niveau principal et 2 chambres à l'étage. 1 salle de bain complète à chaque niveau. Le niveau inférieur a un énorme rec. chambre avec table de billard, table de ping-pong, de nombreux sièges, télévision par câble et une cheminée à bois.

La cuisine est entièrement équipée avec tous les appareils nécessaires, y compris cuisinière / four, réfrigérateur, lave-vaisselle, micro-ondes, cafetière, grille-pain, etc. Tous les ustensiles de cuisine et plats sont fournis. Les serviettes et les draps sont également fournis. Tout ce que vous devez fournir, c'est l'épicerie. (Ou sautez la cuisine pendant que vous êtes en vacances et profitez de l'un des fantastiques restaurants du centre-ville de Gatlinburg).

Juste à l'arrière et niché sous un gazebo couvert, se trouve le bain à remous de 4 à 6 places pour faire tremper vos soucis après une journée bien remplie.

À environ 3 km se trouve Ober Gatlinburg, une belle station de ski avec d'excellentes pistes de ski, une grande patinoire couverte, des restaurants, des salons et même un zoo d'ours. Le tramway aérien jusqu'à Ober Gatlinburg vous emmène directement au cœur du centre-ville en 15 minutes et peut être vu depuis le chalet lorsqu'il passe au-dessus.

The actual place was great! I will note within 5 minutes of beginning to load stuff into the Cabin. Two bears broke into my car and ripped the back seats. So just be extra cautious when loading…we saw about five total in only two days.

This was a great location for our stay. The house was clean and very welcoming. We loved the hot tub, pool table, and ping pong table for the kids to be occupied. Overall it’s a great cabin to stay in. If you’re looking for “modern style” then this is not your style as it has an older cabin feel to it which was perfect for us. The kids (12,22,23, and 25) loved it, especially with the ping pong and pool table. Bathrooms are updated. The house does have an older smell to it but overall was clean and comfortable. The areas we noticed were the windows in between the inside and outside window glass (nothing inside). No big deal and didn’t affect our stay just an observation. We would absolutely stay again. We saw bears multiple times a day. At one point we saw 6 different bears within 10-15 minutes. That being said make sure your car and the house door is locked. We did not use the hot tub. There was great communication with the owner. We did enjoy one of the pool areas. The house is up for sale so not sure of changes a future owner may do. Check out was super easy.

The place was cute, and perfect for my friends and I. It's hard to get up and down the mountain if you're not used to it. Same with getting in and out of the driveway. But once we were used to it, it was fine. Wish we had more of a heads up about that but would 100% stay here again if we come back to Gatlinburg.

There were six adults in our group, and we had a blast! On separate occasions, we saw approximately 10–14 bears during our stay. One important tip for future guests: completely empty your car, make sure the windows are rolled up tightly, and keep it locked!We loved watching the bears walk past the cabin each morning. The cabin itself is a bit dated with some upgrades, but it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.Also, be prepared for winding roads and steep uphill driveways — it definitely keeps things exciting, so pay attention while driving! ;-)Thank you for a fun and memorable stay!

Code on door was not correct. We waited 45 minutes for Rebecca to get back with us & give us a new code. There was trash around the front, interior doors had veneer stripped off in places, same with tables in living room.No drain plugs in 2 of the bathtubs. Rip in hot tub cover. Hot tub was fine, beds were comfortable, house was clean. We did get to see 2 bears eating berries by the driveway.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m truly sorry for the inconvenience you experienced at check‑in. You arrived Sunday morning—one day after your scheduled check‑in—and unfortunately called while I was in an early church service, which caused the delay in getting you a new door code. I apologized at the time, and I appreciated your understanding during our conversation. Bear Paws is a mountain cabin that does experience some natural wear, and we work continuously to maintain and improve it. The hot tub cover was actually brand new before your stay, but a bear damaged it shortly after installation. The rocking chair shown in your photo is intentionally placed beside the house, away from the decks, because it is broken and not part of the usable furniture. We also address items like veneer wear and missing drain stoppers as soon as we’re made aware of them. I didn’t receive any messages from you during your stay, so I wasn’t aware of these concerns until reading your review. I’m glad to hear the cabin was clean, the beds were comfortable, and that you enjoyed the hot tub—and especially that you got to see the bears by the driveway. They’re always a memorable part of the Smoky Mountain experience. Thank you again for your feedback. It helps us continue improving the cabin for future guests.
