Glen Lake

Great place to relax and enjoy the sunset, it rained some while we were there but didn’t dampen our experience. Sleeping Bear Dunes just down the road and good pizza from Bears Paw.

Color Tour Up North

Perfect view of Glen Lake and beautiful Fall Colors. Looks like it would be a sweet spot to stay in the Summer also. Very clean, easy access, close to anywhere you would want to drive for all of the sweet spots of Up North!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the cottage. It is clean and provides the basics for a nice stay. The view of Glen Lake from our place was lovely and we really enjoyed the cozy, little screened in porch! I think this size cottage is better suited for one or two people but you could certainly fit three or four if you really like each other! We have vacationed in this area for decades and would definitely consider this little location again, while enjoying one of our favorite spots on the planet!

We booked late in the season so were happy to get this property and paid more than we had hoped to spend, but seemed like a good value with crystal clear lake, great location and access to kayaks, fire ring, paddle boards, row boat, etc. so felt like we got lucky. There were a few things we wished we had known about the property before booking. The property is a group of cabins and the outdoor spaces/equipment are shared amongst all cabins. This can change the solitude/privacy one might be going for and perhaps our experience was a one-off but the owner and family were present with the other cabins occupied by their family/friends (which were very nice, just unexpectedly changed the feel of being the outsiders). We also wished we knew about and/or were more prepared for the risk of swimmers itch in the lake in advance of arrival as we could have packed accordingly and planned our days for later lake use. Additionally, there were a lot of ants in the kitchen, and understanding that it is not unusual for the “cabin” experience was an added layer of annoyance. The property was clean, otherwise pretty well maintained and had the supplies one would expect for air bnb stay.

We are sorry for your disappointment. We strive to be very clear in our property descriptions: "Escape from it all at Brookhaven Resort. One of five cottages with shared access to 150' of water frontage. Gather around the shared fire pit for s'mores and sunsets overlooking Alligator Hill in the Sleeping Bear Dunes" area. Unfortunately, we cannot control swimmer's itch and aren't always aware of it. We are always happy to send someone to take care of pests.

Nice location, right by the lake. Great if you want a peaceful vacation. Cabin is good too, only downside is the lack of AC, it gets very hot and cleaning crew being hour late to leave on arrival. Otherwise we had no issues and would reccomend this stay to others

It was perfect. From the beautiful view from our living room of the lake, to the firpit lake side, to the kayaks, paddle boards, canoes and boats, we didnt want to leave! We will definitely be back.

The facility is well-maintained: cabins are clean and cozy, fire pit well stocked, plenty of water craft/toys to uses and enjoy and the grounds are also nicely-mowed and maintained. The evenings were chilly this year-- so the newer electric heaters were much appreciated!

Perfect Summer Vacation Location

A great location for our family of four to swim, visit sights and other beaches too, and enjoy the national lakeshore. As for the location it's perfect.If you are planning on staying, cottage 5 is the largest but cottage 2 has a screened in porch with a wonderful view of the lake.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I recently stayed in one of the cabins on Brookhaven and were super impressed with it. Everything was clean when we arrived and the cabin had everything we needed to make some really nice meals. We didn't have to haul our kayaks with us and enjoyed fishing and exploring and fishing on the water with some kayaks available to everyone. Will definitely be back next summer and would come back again this year if the space were available :)

Beautiful Lakeside days and star-filled silent nights

Our family has been coming here over a decade-- a great growing-up experience for our kids! Each remembers their first kayaking trips, paddling into Brooks Lake to see the herons, otters, and turtles, the bonfires, making s'mores and chatting with other families, the stars-- and Northern Lights over the lake at night. We love all there is for us to do and what a lovely place to just not do anything this is. The upgrades are appreciated too!
