Rancho Vaquero: Luxury Desert Retreat 2 King Suites, Heated Salt Pool & Hot Tub

Our vacation home is situated in Northeast Tucson/Tanque Verde at the base of the Catalina Mountains, near the entrance to Coronado National Forest and Hwy to Mt Lemmon and just a few minutes from Saguaro National Park. It's a spacious Santa Fe style residence that sleeps 8 with multiple living and dining spaces as well as beautiful outdoor areas. A large lap pool and hot tub are featured in the backyard next to a wood burning fireplace and lots of patio space. Outdoor kitchen includes a grill island. The front courtyard offers sweeping Southwest views of the Rincon Mountain Range and the city of Tucson. Three of the five bedrooms include ensuite full bathrooms, and the large kitchen is equipped for gourmet cooking. Home is 10 minutes drive from local shopping and restaurants, and 35 minutes from University of Arizona and downtown Tucson. This home is available to rent for a 30-day lease. This was the best experience we have had staying at any rental house. The house was beautiful, the beds comfortable, and they stock all the things to make the stay perfect. Coffee, chips and salsa, a variety of beverages, and soap and shampoo in each shower. The list could go on. They take every detail into consideration, I hope this property is available next time we visit Tucson!

Home was gorgeously furnished, well stocked and very clean with thoughtful details throughout. Perfect for adult couples or families with older children. The pool area had some projects ongoing it appeared and the pool itself was too deep for our youngest (no real shallow end). Quintessential Arizona home.Perfect Arizona desert home nestled in a natural environment. One of the best stocked homes I’ve stayed in which included coffee, beer, wine, and soft drinks. The owner was extremely responsive to my questions and in resolving a spa issue on a Saturday / Valentine day. I rate this home and owner exceptional and enjoyed the style of both the indoor decorating and outdoor landscaping

Rancho Vaquero exceeded our expectations. Perfect location with incredible views of the mountains. Easy access to many hiking and mountain biking trails . Wonderful to return after an active day to a swim and refreshments on the patio. The gourmet kitchen had all the amenities available and we enjoyed meals and relaxing in front of the Kiva. The home itself seems designed for that perfect Arizona feel complete with amazing art throughout the home. We definitely will be back!

Four couples, four great days of friendship, games, food and fun in this lovely, well appointed, home. Spacious, comfortable with lovely pool and spa. Indoor and outdoor dining options. Plush towels, comfortable beds, premium toiletries. Kitchen is a cooks dream and has everything needed for preparing meals. We were delighted/obsessed with the incredible coffee maker. Our hosts were so helpful and responsive. We plan to book again with our friends for a repeat stay.

There are many nice properties available in the Tucson area, but what makes Rancho Vaquero stand out is the really high quality of the decor and appliances, the obvious love and care which has gone into the creating of this home and the little touches like a welcome basket, a useful pantry and some drinks in the refrigerator.The result? You feel like a treasured guest and instantly enjoying your surroundings. We’ve been lucky enough to stay in many really good properties, but this is the best of them. Must add, too, that the hosts are really kind and responsive.Can’t wait to return!

While the pics are great...this property is better in person! They literally have everything covered!!! The communication was on point, very helpful and swift. We would stay here over and over again if we could. Very happy with our stay!

This may have been the absolute best property we have ever stayed in - and we have stayed in many amazing properties! The house and outdoor living space are stunning, with every amenity you can imagine and views to die for. This home has a gorgeous upscale Southwest vibe - from multiple indoor kiva-style fireplaces PLUS a fire table on the patio and a wood burning fireplace up near the pool, heated pool and spa for year-round use (with those to-die-for views again), super cozy great room seating (and yep, more views of the mountains), beautiful Southwest style furnishings, and jaw dropping art (we are art lovers at heart). The beds are incredibly comfortable, the baths are thoughtfully outfitted, and the kitchen is a dream to cook in with high-end appliances and every conceivable utensil, implement and accessory. My husband's comment says it all - this is the kind of place you could go to and never leave, a destination in itself! The hosts clearly care about providing a luxury experience, and are incredibly responsive on top of it all. I emailed our host several times before and during our stay, and Cambria was quick to respond with helpful recommendations and insights each time. We were a family of 5, so the house was larger than we needed, but we would stay here again in a heartbeat if we ever return together to Tucson. It was that great. Thank you Erik and Cambria for an absolutely perfect family holiday getaway!

What an amazing place to watch the mountains and sunsets!

This is an incredible place to rest amd relax with a beautiful pool and hot tub, alfresco and outdoor living on a quiet piece of property. You are surrounded by saguaro and mesquite trees! Its like your own private ranch!

Mom’s Retreat

The house was very inviting and well thought out. It’s spacious, well decorated and best of all, quiet. The large kitchen, with all the amenities, met all of our cooking needs when we didn’t want to make the short jaunt into town. The pool and hot tub were so relaxing and the perfect spot for soaking up all the sun and reading a great book. We thoroughly enjoyed our Mom’s vacay and will be rebooking.

Spectacular Oasis

We were here last year and loved it. So back again this year. The house has it all: Tremendous views of the mountains, totally privacy, great pool and hot tub, open indoor gas fireplace for breakfast coffee, and wood burning fireplace outside for evening happy hour. Arizona National golf (public) just minutes away. Everything is first rate. And the kitchen is well stocked with everything you might need, including some treats provided by the hosts. What I can't adequately put into words is just how warm and comfortable the home feels. It truly is an oasis.

Amazing Vacation Stay

I can't recommend this place enough! Eric and Cambria are wonderful hosts! Everything was so well communicated before, after and during our stay. The house is gorgeous and very tastefully decorated. It is also outfitted with everything you could possibly want to enjoy your stay, from top-notch appliances, cooking equipment, and enough dishes to serve even the biggest family down to clean towels and sheets in every room as well as nice touches like makeup wipes, shampoos, lotion etc. It is a little out of the way if you are going to events at the University, but well worth it for the quality, beauty and peacefulness of the property!

Nothing short of stunning.

We travel a lot with vrbo and if anything the pictures don’t do it justice. Views and location are stunning. The house alone is stunning and incredibly well laid out for 4 bedrooms. Amazing amount of space and the lap pool for exercising was a dream. With an outdoor fireplace and a hot tub poised for the best view we couldn’t decide if the inside or outside were better. Next time we will plan more time to stay there rather than excursion trips as it’s like your own private resort. Great communication with the owners as well. It’s a tightly run ship with everything you need. Can’t wait to come back.

We LOVED our stay at Rancho Vaquero. This spacious and beautiful home was a perfect home base for our group of 4 adults and 2 kids. The high ceilings, giant windows, Mexican tiles, beautiful artwork and vast garden made this home special. The view of the rocky peaks facing the home was amazing. We found ourselves not wanting to explore Tucson so much but to stay in this wonderful home. Kids loved the pool. Backyard was a bird watching paradise. One morning we identified 14 unique species. This home and its location are truly spectacular, it was like waking up in a national park each day, with premium linens, high end kitchen, a push button espresso maker and complete privacy. We can't wait to book again.

Nothing Short of AMAZING

I say 'amazing' because I have never stayed anywhere, ever, that combined the best of being on vacation with the best of feeling the comforts of home. The feel of the house inside and out is so comfortable and relaxing, with all top appliances and accommodations. The morning hot tub with birds chirping, peacefully quiet, and not a house to be seen in any direction. Following a day of activities, back to this beautiful home to relax by the pool, and/or have a late lunch outside, and watch the sun set. Location is in a beautiful neighborhood very near the base of the road up to Mt Lemmon and easy access to Sabino Canyon and Saguaro Nat Park and a number of nice restaurants - yet not too close to any commercial activity. Plus the owners, Cambria and Erik, could not have been more generous and responsive in making our stay so so great. Amazing.

Such a beautiful home!

Upon arriving we had no trouble getting into the house. The neighborhood is very quiet and serene. The house is incredibly spacious with separate wings to give everyone a sense of privacy. A nicely furnished living room has ample seating and a nice large TV to relax with a movie or to catch up on TV shows. Our host was generous and very responsive to any messages. We had very little cause to contact Cambria because the house includes a helpful guide and manual that explains virtually everything you need to know. This is very helpful and appreciated. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Everything is clean and ample bedding is provided. Many thoughtful toiletries are also provided for guest use. The beds are comfortable and each morning we woke up refreshed. The coffee machine in the kitchen was a nice surprise and brews delicious espresso drinks. A nicely stocked pantry has spices and other kitchen essentials. A beverage fridge filled with different drinks was a very nice touch. Cooking meals in the gourmet kitchen was easy with a large selection of utensils and pans. The large refrigerator easily stores a week’s worth (and more) of groceries with a large freezer compartment and ice maker. The back yard is also large and spacious. No neighbors could be heard or seen. Although we did not take advantage of the pool and hot tub, they also looked clean and well cared for. Lots of patio furniture allows you to enjoy the outdoors under the shade on a large patio.
