Come take a break in this newly renovated cabin! This boathouse features a spacious getaway with stunning sunrise views, right over the lake!
We offer activities for every season and we're centrally located between Northfield and Faribault. With plenty of lake fun like kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, fishing, ice fishing, ice skating, etc., there's something for everyone to enjoy.

My husband and I spent my birthday in the boat house. There are lovely lake and night sky views, in a comfortable and relaxing cabin. The cabin is clean, the kitchen has everything you need and did I mention relaxing? So relaxing!!! Thank you Kristy!!

This was our best VRBO stay ever. They hosts were exceptionally hospitable and generous with their time, advice, and help. The boathouse was cozy, attractive, and spotlessly clean. The lake is gorgeous, and the fishing excellent. The kitchen is equipped with all you need. We give this place our highest recommendation!

Perfect Getaway

The boathouse is a cozy cabin with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kayaks, hammock, and chair swings are perfect for relaxation. Kristy and Casey are wonderful hosts, they made us feel very welcome.

This was an amazing place!! Perfect for my wife and 11 year old son as we visited big brother at Shattuck St Mary’s! My little guy got to fish and we saw lots of fish action around the dock. I just couldn’t find the right bait!We were able to make breakfast easily in the morning!If there are SSM Families looking at this property, it was less than 20 minutes to campus!We will be back!

Cute little Boathouse.

Nice and clean boathouse. The chickens and ducks that roam around are very entertaining. The owners are very receptive to you if anything is needed. Very nice place to stay.

Book it!!

What a gem! The Boathouse was a lovely place to spend Memorial Day weekend! We enjoyed the lake, kayaking, fishing, swings, and walks with our dogs. Our hosts, Kristy and Casey, welcomed us and made the experience a memorable one for our family. We hope to return!

Weekend getaway

My two young sons and I had a very nice visit to The Boathouse. The lake is well used but not busy and the water is calm. We spent our time on the kayaks, fishing from the dock, and on land with a fire to warm up the cool summer evenings. The Boathouse is well-kept, comfortable, and charming and the hosts are delightful and generous. The drive into the twin cities is very easy. I would definitely recommend.

Fox lake boathouse

Staying in the boathouse was wonderful Loved waking up to a beautiful sunrise every morning. There was everything we could of wanted or needed available Wish the weather would of been better so we could of enjoyed some of the activities that were available to us We will book again Great place Great hosts

Loved our stay!

We had a wonderful, relaxing getaway. We loved the boathouse--cute, quaint, and right on the water. The air conditioning worked well and was a life-saver in the hot, humid weekend weather. The owners were friendly, responsive to questions, and communicated well. No real swimming area at the property (unless you went further out into the lake), but it was a lot of fun to take advantage of the provided kayaks and paddleboards. Short (15-20 minute) drive into Northfield or Faribault for restaurants and exploring, but we also used the well-stocked kitchen to make meals at the cabin too. We'd love to come back sometime. Thanks for a great time!

Long weekend at the Boathouse

Wonderful, cozy little place with a full kitchen. Great view of the lake and decor was so cute. The place was very clean-we met the host and he was so friendly and helpful. Nice sized bathroom, cute living room with bed and extra spaces to sleep. It was a great little get away on the coldest weekend in 2 years, lol. Bring your slippers in the winter-the heat is great but the floor can be a bit chilly-understandably. Wouldn’t hesitate recommending this place or going back myself!

Boat house

The boat house was a cute place to get away. Its very quite. The owners are amazing. If you want company or to be left alone they respect it. They might even take you on the boat and go for a night time swim.

Relaxing retreat

The boathouse was very cute, looking out over the serene Fox Lake. We were not able to take advantage of the kayaks and paddle boat since we had our dog with us. The property had games, books, and many other extras in case you forgot to bring something. Our host was very friendly and gave us great info. We look forward to the next visit.

Relaxing

The boathouse is directly over the water. Opening the windows created a relaxing breeze with the lapping sound of the water. Beautiful property. Modern decor and clean! We didn’t take advantage of the fire pit by the water due to high winds. We were able to see a bit of the northern lights! I would recommend this place. The owners are friendly and accommodating.

Family Vacation

My wife, myself, and our two daughters enjoyed our week at the Boathouse. The space was perfect for our family of four. The queen size bed was incredibly comfortable for my wife and I. Our 11-year-old slept on the twin sized pull out sofa and our 7-year-old slept on the twin sized inflatable mattress. The kitchen is fully equipped and the gas stove is a wonderful feature. There is also a propane grill outside that we used as well. We were greeted by the owners and their family of ducks and chickens upon arrival. The boathouse is directly on the lake behind the owner's home. Our daughters loved swinging from the tree swings, swimming in the lake and playing on the Lilypad while my wife and I used the kayaks that were provided. The location is excellent for hopping onto I-35 and driving into the Twin Cities only 45 minutes away, which we took advantage of during our stay. We loved our time at the boathouse and our daughters were already talking about when we could come back!
