Summer: fish/swim/kayak/byo boat. Winter: ski at Wilmot/skate/ice fish. Outdoor patio, fire pit, play set, fenced in yard. 3 bedrooms and 3 full bath. Separate rec room living space. Walking distance to small beach. Boat launch nearby. Near Metra, Six Flags, Volo, Gurnee, and more. No parties or additional visitors permitted. Fenced in yard, Dogs welcome for additional fee.

I really love this houses layout and cleanliness. Was very comfortable and spacious for the 5 of us adults. There is clearly so much thoughtfulness and care, that these owners have taken to ensure our comfort. Thank you.

We were very happy and satisfied with our stay. The property was exactly as described and well maintained/clean. We spent most of our time in the home, as the weather was poor, but this was obviously no fault of the host. Even so, we played ping pong, games, and watched Netflix and had a great time. The host offered to us an hour extended checkout time to help make up for the rainy weather. The host was very responsive during the entire process and seemed happy to answer questions and help us get the most out of our stay. We would absolutely come back again in the future!

Had an 11-day stay and it was wonderful. Clean and very well furnished home...had everything we needed and then some. Due to the length of our stay, we appreciated that the kitchen had new appliances and all the cookware/dishware we needed to prepare our own meals. Like new washer and dryer were also a plus. The provided Wifi had plenty of speed for my wife to work from the house…something that has been an issue in some past rentals. The location worked well also...besides being close to Long Lake, it was a short drive to a number of dog-friendly restaurant patios on other lakes.We needed dog friendly as we were pup-sitting for part of our stay. What we got was "dog welcoming". The host provided dog bowls with mat, blanket, towels and even a couch pad (even though our pup stays off couches). Nice touch.I can’t say enough about our host. Carolyn is super quick to answer any questions and even checked in with us during our stay to see if we needed anything else. Check-in and check-out were a breeze.We will definitely stay at this property again if we are in the area.

Great place with the dogs! They loved running in the backyard after a 14 hour car ride.Also the parking area was perfect for us since we had a trailer with us.

Great House Near a Lake

We had a wonderful stay. The host was very easy to communicate with and the house was a great place to stay in. We travelled to Gurnee, visited the Bristol Renaissance fair, and kayaked on the lake just down the street from the house. Would definitely stay here again

Carolyn is an exceptional host! We traveled with our two pups so the backyard was great for them. The house is a cozy cottage feel full of fun amenities and walking distance to the water. I wish we could have stayed longer to used the kayaks. The neighbors were super friendly too!

Quiet relaxing. No issues at all! We were all comfy cozy at the lodge. My kids LOVED the game room. We taught them how to play the game Mexican train and we got loud but had a blast!!

Nice weekend

The property was as advertised and good for the kids. Bedrooms were big enough for everyone and had enough extra supplies. Kitchen was stocked well with what we needed for basics. The kids loved the swing set in the backyard and the dog loved the big fenced in yard!The beach was an easy walk, however, was fairly dirty and not great for swimming so we did not spend a lot of time there because of that. We did drive into a few surrounding towns which had more to offer. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and thanks for having us!

The kitchen was equipped with what I needed. My son and his daughter’s enjoyed playing ping pong , darts and the games. We could not use the shower in the master due to how high the tub was. Not really set up for seniors. Everything was very clean. We did not bring a pet with us. Wish we had more time to enjoy more.

Our stay was great from before we got there to after we left. The host was extremely responsive and helpful. Little details were thought of such as water bottles next to all beds and towels in each room. Extremely comftorable. Our only issue was the well water was foul smelling. We were warned of this before arrival. Will be staying here again

Friendcation 2025

Thanks so much to Carolyn for this wonderful stay near the lake. Plenty of amenities were made available during our stay which helped it really feel like a home away from home. The house is spacious with the right mix of open and private areas. The surplus of everyday household needs available during our stay was a topic talked about more than once. The closeness of grocery stores with the option to deliver was also a plus (who wants to shop for groceries on vacation, right?) The backyard is also spacious and the host even included a couple of kayaks. The beach was much smaller than than and anticipated and we had hoped to get in the lake, but unfortunately (and outside of the hosts control), the lake was inaccessible during our stay due to a recent blue-green algae bloom. I know these things are quite common during the summer, but made us readjust on the fly. So, we had to drive to a nearby splash pad and park which still helped the toddlers have a good time :) Small childs toys and books were at the house and was a huge lifesaver for our family (we forgot to bring bedtime books). Our son was excited to hear some new bedtime stories!
