Old Mill Cabin #1 - on the Little MO River, large yard, close to Diamond Mine!

Luxury log cabin -- we use the term loosely! This is a modern country home! The Old Mill Cabin #1 is located on the Little Missouri River just one mile north of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, home of the Crater of Diamonds State Park. Our property is located on the site of the historic Royston Grist, lumber and textile mill. Fully furnished with all the amenities of home. Just a few minutes to restaurants, entertainment, public diamond mine and shopping, yet in a peaceful, quiet setting.

The space
Old Mill Cabin #1 has a master bedroom with queen bed and private full bath. Bedrooms #2 and #3 each have a queen bed and shared full Jack-and-Jill bath. Also in the shared bathroom is a full size washer and dryer for your convenience. Both bathrooms have linens and hairdryers available. Spacious front deck with and a spacious back deck with dining table, extra seating and a grill. Located on ten shared acres with Cabin #2. There is plenty of outdoor space for the kids to run, play games, or to just enjoy the peace and quiet.

Other things to note
There is no hunting allowed on the property. Just sit back and watch the wildlife walk into the yard. Any hunting on the property will be prosecuted. We do not allow metal detecting on our property; this is an agreement between us and the Historical Society. Please leave metal detectors at home. Violation of this rule will be grounds for termination of rental. There are plenty of activities to do in the area -- Dos Broz Arcade Park, Diamond Mine, Diamond Springs, Dino Dig, Ka-Do-Ha Indian Village, water sports, shopping and more!

2 pets allowed with preapproval and a non-refundable $75 fee each pet.

Pike County is a dry county.

The jets in the master tub are non functioning.

Absolutely lovely cabin! Stayed for 2 nights and loved it so much. So many amenities and the fully stocked kitchen was fantastic. The location was perfect close to town and Crater Diamond State Park. I do hope to come back soon and spend more time. We same deer - so many - and they just came up right up to the cabin. The cabin was spotless, beds comfy, there were board games available, WiFi and FOUR TVs so to keep everyone entertained.

Cabin was welcoming and very well stocked including extra appliances. Location by the river was delightful. Despite miscommunication not getting my lockbox pin on time, our stay was great!

This cabin was perfect! Literally had anything you would need. It felt just like home. Super clean and tidy. Not a speck of dust. My kids loved looking at all the cool collectibles that were included in the decor. The proximity to the town square and Crater of Diamonds was perfect. We walked to the river and enjoyed seeing deer on the property daily. The town was super small but so perfect. We enjoyed Hawkins Variety for icecream and lunch. Telinga’s was some of the best Mexican food we’ve had in a long time. Would definitely stay here again. This cabin was perfection.

Cabin is great. Very clean and cozy. About 10 mins outside of Murfreesboro. Close to restaurants, the crater, and other attractions. Note, there is only a small Dollar General in town. If you need serious groceries, stop at the Walmart in Arkadelphia or Nashville depending on how you are getting there. Additionally, this is probably one of the most generous hosts in terms of amenities like the small stuff and extras. The Little Missouri River is behind the cabin and is a nice place to dip the feet in. Also, friendly tip. Do the Crater of Diamonds first, then go up to the quartz mines. It makes the quartz mines even more amazing. Thank you to the host! We had a great stay.

Nice and Clean

We enjoyed our stay and were pleasantly surprised by some of the “extra touches” that you don’t normally see. Example, although the ice maker didn’t work (I’m thinking there’s no water line to it) a full large bag of ice was in the freezer for our use. There were extra rolls of TP, laundry detergent, garbage bags and even stuff to use at Crater of Diamonds State Park. The beds were comfortable and everyone had a good stay. My husband wished the TV’s were bigger but they all worked with no issues. As far as fishing goes we were a little disappointed. The house is kinda at a dead end road that basically is a boat launch for the Missouri River. Any access from the property itself was too overgrown but could be possible in the winter? We also learned later (after all of us spending money for fishing/Trout licenses that you basically can only Fly Fish in the area along with a Park not far from there. No barbed lures allowed. That’s nothing against the host just mentioning it for anyone planning on fishing. Overall we had a very nice stay. Brandi was super helpful about getting us checked in and I would stay here again if we were in the area. My only suggestion would to have a sign in the yard for either the address or the name on it. We weren’t exactly sure we were in the right place when we first got there. The lockbox is not actually located on the front door so it took a second look to find it. Thanks for everything Brandi.

Diggin for Diamonds

Our family was amazed by the beautiful Murfreesboro! It was tranquil and peaceful at the cabin. The locals were so hospitable and we loved all the shops. Arkansas won our hearts. We will be back again!!!

Family getaway

The cabin and surrounding property were perfect! Spacious,clean,homey atmosphere both inside and out. Any small items we forgot were readily available for our usage. The nearby river provided a wonderful background noise,making us feel like we were deep in the wilderness. We only had to make a short drive however into town and attractions. The hosts attention to detail made our stay both relaxing and fun.100% will be recommending this place to friends and family. Thank you to our hostess for a wonderfully unique experience.

A well laid out cabin that was ideal for a large family visit.

A number of thoughtful provisions such as fishing rods, diamond digging gear, fire pit, even a few golf clubs! 4 TVs ensured people could watch what they wanted. Well positioned for diamond crater exploration. We plan to return in the future.

Sister's bucket list

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We live in South Florida and my sister lives in Alabama. We met up at the cabin and enjoyed visiting together and digging for diamonds. We didn't find diamonds but did bring home some pretty rocks!

Family fun adventure

Property was like a home away from home! Very beautiful rental with a fire pit and everything you need to enjoy a relaxing stay! Minus the wine! We weren’t aware it was a dry county and had to take a road trip for wine and on the way back our gps sent us down a gravel road needless to say we went over the river and through the woods to get back but it was a fantastic adventure!! We will absolutely book again! The people in the community were so nice and hospitable! Thank you for everything!

Wonderful place to stay

Cabin is amazing, beautiful, clean and lots of amenities. We went to crater of diamonds and host had some tool that we were able to use to look for diamonds. Cabin has a nice all around porch. We love the cabin

Camp Gaga

This was our yearly trip with the grand boys and son. We picked Murfreesboro for the Diamond Mining (my youngest grandson wanted to try it) . Also we love fishing , I thought the cabin would be more river activity for fishing and swimming but the current was too much. The cabin was nice and we saw deer while having morning coffee.
