Welcome to Lou's Cottage! 🏡
If you're looking for a cozy and relaxing getaway in Northern Michigan, consider renting our lake cottage on Big Star Lake in Baldwin.
Our charming cottage sleeps up to six people (2 bedrooms, 1 pull out couch) making it perfect for families or friends. A full size kitchen & laundry room are available for your use during your stay. You also have access to the beach and we are located just a mile from the boat launch.
In the summer enjoy swimming, fishing, boating, and kayaking on the beautiful Big Star Lake. 🌊🐠🚤  After a full day on the water, take a walk through the cute little neighborhood in the woods and cozy up around the fire.
While in the fall & winter, you can visit the nearby Pere Marquette River for fishing and the Manistee National forrest for hunting, ATV & snowmobile trails, hiking, biking and so much more!
Located just 45 mins from Ludington, 1 1/2 hrs from Traverse City and an 1 1/2 from Grand Rapids!

We loved our stay at this cute cottage! Very clean with lots of good storage to put all our stuff. Communication with hosts was great, very quick to respond to messages. Small, but nice, beach area. We would love to stay again!!

It was the best cottage rental experience I have ever had. The cottage is very clean and well stocked with anything you need.The owners go the extra mile for sure.We will definitely rent again.

Excellent stay. Place was very clean well provided. We really loved taking our daily walk. Beach and water area was beautiful, sandy and clean. Great communication with Cindi, as she was very prompt to answer any questions. I highly recommed this property for rental. Hopefully we can come back next year for another return here. Thank you very much for a very relaxing 5 days.

Summer 2025

The host was great. Well equipped, clean, cozy cabin. Nice sandy beach with access right across the street. Grandkids enjoyed the water immensely. The porch was a nice bonus that we used a lot. The grandkids enjoyed watching the chipmunks squirrels raccoons and the birds from the porch. We even saw a red fox out behind the house. The Wi-Fi is excellent as well. I would stay here again!

Our stay at Lou’s cottage was exactly what we needed! The property is lovely and well maintained, the location is quiet with access to the beach and water, the hosts were and communicative through the entire process, including an early check-in to accommodate our traveling toddler. We stayed on site for the most part but it is very close to great hiking and other outdoor excursions. We would highly recommend this property and hope to return in the future!

When we first approached the end of the road. We noticed how nice, serene and WELL KEPT the area was. Once we pulled up to the garage, put the code in to open the side door. We were IMMEDIATELY hit with the FRAGRANCE of FRESHNESS 🤩! This is the very 1ST VRBO, in the USA and OUTSIDE of it, that this multitude of CLEANLINESS and AIR FRESHING smells has "INVITED US IN" from the door opening! This cottage is not only emmaculant! It is the PERFECT SPOT to other little towns and cities. Plus, the access to the the available beach area was serene and a hop, skip and no jump necessary to get to! We are already planning our return trip to rent this BEAUTIFUL SPACIOUS COTTAGE
