This place was exactly what we needed. Very peaceful right on the creek and had places to hike and walk the dog right from the house. The parkway has an entrance thatâs very close too which made it nice for being able to take the scenic route to places and enjoy the beauty of the parkway. The host also was very responsive and went out of their way to get things right for us. Would definitely recommend staying here!
Wonderful location, we loved exploring the trails. Itâs definitely quite rustic, and could benefit greatly with an overall clean with general maintenance, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book again. Excellent communication also - We accidentally left something behind and the host went above and beyond to help us.
Small issues that were resolved immediately. Canât say enough positive about the owner. He definitely went above and beyond. Loved the cabin and location was wonderful literally steps from the large creek. Beds were comfortable but glad we brought pillows. The wife, dog and very much enjoyed it.
My husband and I stayed at Stoney Forks for his birthday and it was great! The hot tub, the swing, the river, walking in the woods, nearby hiking, and of course Asheville (specifically the River Arts District) were all highlights for us! Thanks for this great little spot in nature!
I'm really torn because the house has both pros/cons. Yes, the house is very quaint/rustic/old. Because of its age, the floors slope in places, and the ceiling beams appear to need repair, but perhaps they're just decorative?Pros:- Serene location next to the creek. Feels very private despite being right off the road with very easy access. 25 min to Asheville.-The trails across the creek in the adjacent park are not well-marked, but we had a great time walking our dog there. It's filled with native plants, including the largest patch of trout lilies I've ever seen! Beautiful! -Love that it's dog-friendly and doesn't charge extra for pets!-The hot tub is lovely and covered! -We didn't use it, but it now has a Weber grill.-Lovely toiletries!Cons:-Harder to sleep if you're sensitive to noise: One bedroom has a window unit that's fairly loud. The master bedroom is near the utility room where some sort of system routinely makes various noises that were too loud for us.-The water pressure was abysmal if you tried to use more than one faucet. So if someone was showering, we couldn't use water in the kitchen. -The shower perpetually drips. -The bridge over the creek no longer has a railing. We had no issues, but not ideal for someone less stable. -The road is out just down from the house, so access to the trails is a bit longer.-Some sheets were worn with pilling that made them feel gritty if you slept in shorts. Would suggest new sheets or plan to sleep in pants.
The cabin was exactly as described and super clean. Contact with the hosts was answered promptly, and responses were friendly and very helpful. The cabin is definitely older, but it was so cozy. The beds slept great and the hot tub was incredibly relaxing with the creek in the background. We loved the stay and would highly recommend the cabin and its hosts.
Perfect for us and our dogs! 15 mins to dowwntown asheville, 5 mins from fantastic hiking and a walk across the bridge in the backyard to trails and the state park. We will be back.
This place was amazing. Quaint and beautiful right on a mountain stream with all amenities you could need. We have found our go to place to stay whenever we visit Asheville.
The cabin is basic with all rudimentary necessities. The deck literally in the stream is a wonderful place to hang out.
Very private even though other cabins are nearby.
We had a nice stay, the hiking in the backyard was fantastic. The cabin is rustic and has some character. If you are looking for a posh stay this may not meet your expectations but if you want a nice place in the forest this is for you. There is a shower, working appliances and a beautiful forest to explore.
We found the cabin to be very rustic with a nice hot tub that sat on the creek wouldâve appreciated a few more simple amenities, like a few basic cooking items and shampoo and soap in the bathrooms
The place was nice. Loved being on the creek. A lot more rustic of a cabin than the online photos. We were ok with it because it reminded us of our farm house. Refrigerator does not work even though I was told that it had been fixed. Also, there was supposed to be a trash can beside the building and there was not. Notified the owners upon check out that the trash was on the porch. I hope they get there before critters do.
