Named after the space where bourbon barrels are forged, you’ll find variations of oak & iron throughout our home – a nod to the humble beginnings of all Kentucky bourbon. Making an imposing mark on NuLu, The Cooperage pays homage to its warehouse district through a vintage-style brick facade, large colonial windows, and exposed steel balcony.

We've crafted every part of this brand-new home with YOU in mind. It's bold in design & full of textural elements, telling the enriching story of Louisville's bourbon scene.

LEVEL 1:
Right through the front door, you'll enter an open living and dining concept with everything you need to enjoy conversation & cocktails. You'll find 1 full bath & 1 King bedroom down the hallway. Head straight out the backdoor for an evening around the fire, bourbon in hand.

LEVEL 2:
Head upstairs to the primary bedroom with en suite bath. Straight ahead you'll find 2 bedrooms, split by 1 full bath. Finally, head out the front door to our balcony - the perfect spot for morning cup of coffee, while overlooking NuLu.

LIVING SPACE: Think hunting lodge meets cigar lounge. Our African Bushbuck and Colorado Pronghorn watch over this dark and richly textural space. Touches of bronze lighting and velvet drapes cast a moody glow for nighttime cocktails and conversation. Our living space features 10-foot ceilings, 85" TV, Bose Soundbar, Cigar humidor & Poly & Bark leather seating.

KITCHEN: With a fully stocked kitchen & an oversized island, it’s a cozy space that makes you want to pull a seat - and stay a while. Whether it's pouring your morning coffee or baking a scrumptious dinner, we've got the supplies for you to make it all. The Pottery Barn copper pendants, Blanco sink, stainless steel appliances and wood grain backsplash are a few of our favorite kitchen features. Key Appliances: Microwave, Oven, Coffee & Tea Pot, Blender & Toaster. Your bar alcove awaits! Serve up the bourbon cocktail of your choosing with a selection of our favorite Crate & Barrel glassware + barware.

BED 1 - WHEN THE SMOKE CLEARS: Drawn from cigar haze, smoked cocktails and fire-born barrel staves, smoke is a central element to all stages of bourbon – from barrel to glass. The cloudy strokes of smoky Bauwerk limewash, metal dipped lighting, marble side tables & smoking portraits provide context to this room theme. You’ll find icon Anthony Bourdain front & center, honoring our shared passion of food, drink, & travel. As is standard with all our bedrooms, you'll find a TV, closet with hangers, ceiling fan, full length mirror & suitcase stands.

BATH 1: Immerse yourself inside of an aging bourbon barrel surrounded by hints of copper and bronze tones. The stark & towering matte black tile shower is the ‘smoking gun’ of the space - reminiscent of oak char.

BED 2 - OAK & IRON: Experience a barrel’s key elements in raw form. The oak slats provide an impactful backdrop for the iron-look bed set. Comfy, cozy & spacious, our primary bedroom windows let in all the natural light - or close the blackout curtains if you're looking to sleep in! This room features Pottery Barn nightstands, Bourbon bottle lamps & wood slats. We hope you enjoy our alcove. The perfect spot to sit and read - or enjoy your morning coffee before hitting the bourbon trail!

BATH 2: The en suite bath is designed to provide a fresh, natural take on oak and iron. Step into the fully-surround wood-look tile shower for ultimate relaxation. Featuring: 63" West Elm vanity, mosaic stone floor tile & Signature Hardware bath hardware.

BED 3 - FEATHER IN YOUR CAP: The room with an air of sophistication. Tartan plaid, brass accents and a pheasant mid-flight offer a unique take on classic men’s Derby millinery creations and this age-old phrase.

BATH 3: Iron barrel rings hold an important role in the world of bourbon. The gunmetal hardware accents, metallic splashed tile and pewter vanity light let this Cooper’s material shine. Check out the oversize soaking tub! This bath is shared with bed 3 & 4.

BED 4 - WHISKEY THIEF: Our 4th and final bedroom stole its namesake from the industry’s straight-from-the-barrel taste tester. Look up and take in the vintage-style copper ceiling tiles, a selection we made to ensure you felt immersed in the element of copper. We've placed a genuine Vendome (located in NuLu) copper whiskey thief above the bed. The circular mirrors are designed to stack like a pot still. You'll also have the balcony view with access through the hallway. Your room will include a TV, closet with hangers, ceiling fan, full length mirror & suitcase stands.

BACKYARD: Pour yourself a glass and step out to a roaring fire for the perfect bourbon trail nightcap. We kept the backyard space simplistic to let the Edison string lights, custom firepit & Polywood Adirondacks become the backdrop to fireside memories.

LAUNDRY: Our Washer & Dryer are available to you during your stay as well as an iron & ironing board.
