Private rural location bordering the Shawnee National Forest. This home sits on 30 acres. Approximately twelve miles south of the closest town and about eight miles from Garden of the Gods and other hiking recreational sites. The home is roomy and cozy. It is large enough for a couple of families or just to let your own family members have their own space. It is a great place to relax, grill out, or just do some porch sitting. Or if you want to take in some sights, you aren’t far from Garden of the Gods, Bell Smith Springs, Burden Falls, Rim Rock or Pounds Hollow. This area is also very horse friendly and this home is not far from several trails and horse campgrounds such as Double M, High Knob, Little Lusk, and Bear Branch Campgrounds. It is also about two miles from Williams Hill Pass that supports four wheeling and dirt biking trails and about four miles from the River to River Trail. So if you want to do a lot of nothing or lots of everything, it is a great location. You most likely will see some wildlife daily whether it is deer, birds, foxes, turkeys, etc in the spacious yard or fields. The home has everything you should need for your stay and is very clean and neat and private. It boasts a full kitchen that is fully stocked. The large front and back yard allows plenty of room for you or your kiddos to walk or run. The back of the property meets a running creek in the woods. Very nice home in the country. You won’t be disappointed

The kitchen was fully equipped. They also had two coffee makers, a Keurig, and a regular, which was very nice! Everything was very clean very roomy and it’s very well stocked. The location was absolutely beautiful plenty of land around to just feel at peace. Everything was very well manicured.

This was the perfect home away from home for a weekend of exploring some of the trails and sites of beautiful southern Illinois. The location was perfect, an easy fifteen-minute drive from Garden of the Gods. It is located in a beautiful, peaceful, country setting, complete with a visiting cat and a couple of horses to watch as they graze in the pasture. The house itself was very clean, great layout, tastefully decorated, with wonderful outdoor spaces to relax in as well. In every room there were thoughtful touches added to make you feel right at home. It truly felt like they thought of everything. If we are ever in the area, we will definitely stay here again!

Great house! Very clean and well stocked with things most likely to be forgotten. We enjoted the firepit in the evening and did not need to bring fire. Great time!

Very peaceful and quiet out in the country, close to Garden of the Gods and Rim Rock for hiking, friendly vacation cat and horses in the pasture. Little creek to explore on the property. House was clean and comfortable. Our family of 4 had plenty of room to spread out, could easily accommodate larger groups with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Dollar General is about 4 miles away for snacks and beverages, but you probably want to bring most groceries with you as there aren’t close by restaurants. Plenty of kitchen equipment and a few basic spices, cooking oil, etc. are provided for cooking.

Clean and spacious house!!

Came into town for a funeral with some other family members and rented this house. It was very clean and had plenty of room for our needs. Enjoyed our stay here in a quiet neighborhood.

This property was just what we were looking for. Clean, spacious, and welcoming. We were able to visit local attractions easily and relax on porch and back deck. Host provided recommendations for restaurants and attractions which were very helpful. House was stocked with spices and condiments which was great. Property was amazing with gorgeous views. There were horses in the pasture, turkeys in the back yard and a friendly vacation cat to pet.Overall this was an excellent place to stay, kick back and enjoy a weekend with family.

This is an amazing property. We enjoyed our weekend away at this beautiful house. It had everything we needed. We were even lucky to watch the deer come out in the field around the same time each night. We would highly recommend this property.

Friends Get Together

Four friends from school got together with spouses to hike, relax and have fun over a long weekend. The house was perfectly situated and appointed to meet all of our expectations and needs. Everyone was comfortable, and pleased with the home. It made our get together a wonderful success.

Awesome Ladies Hiking Trip

Well appointed, clean, spacious home in a beautiful pastoral setting. The property is exactly as pictured with lots of thought given to guest comfort. The bedrooms and bathrooms are nicely decorated with every thing you need for a relaxing stay. The kitchen is well equipped including extras like ingredients for S’mores. There are three nice spaces to enjoy the outdoors, plenty of parking and easy access for luggage. We had a great stay and will be back.

Stunning property

The house and the property were stunning and very clean. It was tastefully decorated and fully stocked with all your needs. Prime location to the Shawnee forest. Excellent communication with the owner. If it was me, I would be nervous renting this out, so I appreciated the opportunity and treated the home as my own which from the looks of things everyone else has done the same.

Seven women here for hiking. We were thrilled with this property. Much roomier than we expected. Well stocked, clean, neat and tidy house and property. Loved the horses meeting us at the corner! Communication with owner was prompt and helpful. Great communication
