We loved our stay at this house. It was a perfect location for multiple stops in the Shawnee national Forest. It was very clean and comfortable and we just really enjoyed our stay.

My mom, sister, and I stayed in this adorable house because we were exploring Shawnee National Forest. The property was located close to many beautiful natural attractions such as Garden of the Gods. This place was well stocked, clean, and owner was quick to respond to messages.

Comfy home in Eddyville

The home was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. We grilled steaks and enjoyed the spring weather and exploring the national forests. The host reached out to verify we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

Just as advertised

The house was in the perfect location for our exploration of Pope County. Shotgun Eddy's is right down the street but we didn't have time to try the food. Lots of hiking trails in the area. The house was clean and check out process simple.

Comfortable and Convenient

We stayed for 3 nights to explore the Shawnee Forest. Many trails and Garden of the Gods within a half hour distance. Kids enjoyed having their own space with games in the lower level. Nice fire pit for an evening outside. Everything was great!

Great Little Getaway Place!

We ventured into Illinois from St. Louis for a short little hiking expedition for Spring Break. This property was perfect for our needs. Plenty of room for our family. Location was perfect to venture to many areas of Shawnee Forest and nearby towns. House had everything we needed and more. Very clean. We all were able to take hot showers with great water pressure after our long day hikes. Beds were comfortable, and we all had great sleep. We appreciated the peacefulness of the area and also the close proximity to a walkable restaurant that had great food that the whole family enjoyed. The older kids appreciated their own space in the basement. Host thought of everything- shampoo and soap and a nice welcome snack basket provided too. We would definitely stay here again since we ran out of time to hike everything we wanted to.

Nice little place for two. Very clean and the restaurant down the street seemed very welcoming to someone from out of town. Would definitely stay there again if we are back in the area.
