This Open and Airy Space Boasts breathtaking valley views of Ithaca and the surrounding area. This newly remodeled space is located on a quiet cul de sac and central to it all! Just minutes to Ithaca College, Cornell University, the downtown commons, college town, hiking, biking, parks, shopping, walking trails. We are 30 minutes from all that Watkins Glen has to offer, and several breweries and wineries are nearby.

This open floor plan includes two living areas with a queen size sofa bed if needed. The king size bed is perfect for rest after a long day of hiking, biking, or moving your college student in to their dorm! The private and peaceful stone patio includes a relaxing hot tub and panoramic views of the Ithaca area and surrounding valley. The back yard connects to a small quiet walking path. A designated work space with desk is included, and WIFI. Toast a marshmallow over a warm fire while star gazing at night!
Ithaca is known for its gorges, waterfalls, hiking, and nature. Ithaca also boasts a wide variety of restaurants and eateries, wineries and breweries. Our family lives upstairs, and we are committed to living quietly and securing your privacy as we work to make your space a restful respite. We've lived here for over 25 years and are are happy to share our beautiful property with you!

We had an absolutely lovely time staying at this retreat in South Hill. We were close to everything we wanted to do and Maria and Paul were wonderful, gracious, and responsive hosts. Overall my favorite vacation rental so far!

This was the nicest place I’ve ever stayed in. It was so clean, in a beautiful location with a hot tub, fire pit and a sweet little trail right there behind the house. Maria and Paul were so hospitable and they created a space that was so inviting. I would recommend staying at this Ithaca Gem if you are in the area. It is also a short distance from state parks, downtown Ithaca, and the Cornel Botanical Gardens.

Spectacular view

Accommodations were above expectations. Coming back at night and going in the hot tub was great. Nice and peaceful. Had a walking trail right off back of property which was nice to walk in the mornings. Overall good experience.

Perfect little getaway

This gem is in a quiet neighborhood, very conveniently located for visiting Ithaca’s colleges or the town itself. The property is warm, cozy, and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Maria truly thought out every detail. We had everything we could have possibly needed. We would definitely want to stay here again if we are in the area!

Beautiful, serene space

Of all my visits to Ithaca over the last 15-20 years, Saunders Place easily rises to the top for lodging. Personally, the location was ideal with an easy drive downtown while also enough distance for quiet and privacy. From booking to check out, communication and instructions were seamless. The ambiance was warm, welcoming, and serene. Maria and Paul's attention to detail is remarkable. Their amenities are top notch, the layout is versatile, the space is well-maintained, and they went above and beyond to stock and label nearly all necessities a guest could hope for. Already looking forward to the next visit and have recommended Saunders Place to several friends who share a love of upstate NY.

Lovely stay, exceeded expectations

From booking to arrival to departure, one of the easiest and nicest rentals you can get. The basement apartment is all newly renovated and charmingly appointed. Everything a couple needs for a relaxing stay. Nice design touches (LOVED the wine sampling display, great idea and I loved the fact that the wines were priced essentially at retail - kudos for no "hotel" prices! I hope guests take advantage). I could go on with how the place exceeded our expectations, but you get the idea. Accomodations, location, hosts - would definitely recommend. Thank you!

Great weekend in Ithaca!

We rented the property for a weekend stay to attend the NYS Special Olympics state championships that our son was coaching. The apartment was just as advertised - private entrance, beautifully decorated and furnished, and comfortable to relax in after the track meet. Same was true of the outside amenities (patio, hot tub and fire pit) - also private and well furnished (even down to the fire starting kit and smores!!) and we very much appreciated having them to use as well!! It was in the beautiful hills above Ithaca away from traffic and bustle of the city, but in 5 minutes we were able to reach every destination we needed. The hosts were super friendly and helpful too! Overall a super weekend -highly recommend!

Surrounded by breathtaking landscape, waterfalls, lakes, and hiking paths, with a rich culture and a lively college town scene, we love our home! We are minutes from both Cornell and Ithaca College. I own a small private practice in town and my husband Paul is the Director of Dining at Cornell University.

We are on a quiet cul de sac in a small peaceful neighborhood just 5 minutes from downtown. We are 2 minutes from Ithaca College, and 7 minutes from Cornell University. We are minutes away from hiking, gorges, and parks. We are 5 minutes from the commons, breweries and a winery. There are small local restaurants just minutes away, and door dash and instacart deliver to our home.
