1The cottage was actually very lovely but the host had put a locked box around the thermostat. The temperatures dipped to the liw 30's during our stay and the inside temperature never got above the mid-50's even with the small space heaters that were brought over. It was very uncomfortable. A small space heater will not heat up a big open space. The host even admitted she knew there was an issue with the thermostat. Why even rent out a property if you know there are problems. I will not rent again.
Who wouldnât want to stay in this adorable place.
What a darling cute place. Had everything you need plus more. Wish we couldâve stayed longer to enjoy sitting on the porch watching the cars go by. Would love to come and stay again.
The cottage was spotless and updated decor. Perfect location to town. I would strongly suggest another door that is not see thru for the back bathroom. Extremely awkward. Also, the front door needs a curtain for privacy. We hung a towel on it at night. And paper towels would be nice to be able to clean up after yourself.
We were in Monroe for my sonâs wedding at The Towers at Snows Mill venue. The house was only 9 miles from the venue.
The house had high end finishes and was very clean. It is located on South Broad Street right near downtown Monroe. We were very pleased with the property.
The worst VRBO! When the owner sends you the access information she also sends a ridiculous set of rules. The first thing when entering the place you're told that the front door must stay shut. She has a timer on the automatic lock for 20 seconds, it makes it extremely difficult when bringing your luggage in. Once you enter you see a security monitor on the wall with a camera in it! (This was very disturbing!) The next thing you notice is that the thermostat is locked in a clear box on the wall with a sign saying do not touch! In her list of rules she says no luggage on the bed what so ever. However she doesn't provide anyplace for you to unpack your luggage or anyplace to unpack your stuff into. No dressers! The bedroom isn't big enough to fit a dresser in. The closet is so small you can't shut the door one you hang your stuff in it. The worst thing of all is that the old spring mattress is in horrible shape! It should've been thrown away a long time ago! Every time you move on it the springs make so much noise you wake the other person up. Our daughter could hear it from the back bedroom. After a terrible night's sleep we contacted the owner about the mattress. She stopped by while were gone to check it out. She contacted us after she looked at it and said " yes, it needs to be replaced but she wouldn't be able to do it until after we leave" I asked for some kind of compensation two different times but she never answered me back! It shouldn't be allowed on VRBO! TERRIBLE!
We stayed one night. The house was easy to find and access. The house was clean. Two ages of rules⊠which was a lot but not unreasonable.Beds uncomfortable.Jute rugs, not taped down. Got out of bed early in the morning, still dark outside. Put my feet on the floor getting out of bed- jute rug slid out under my feet, I crashed to the floor⊠lots of bruises! The thermostat is on lockdown.. set to 74 on a warm nightâŠso a little too toasty for sleep. Also putting frosting on the bathroom door⊠windows on the door made for an uncomfortable bathroom trip. Also recommend emptying the laundry basket of linens from last stay.
