This 1929 house in the Central District has recently been remodeled with new floors and walls, and a new kitchen and an extra half bathroom upstairs. Perfect for 4 adults and 2 kids. Have coffee on the back deck. Hop the First Hill streetcar down to the International District and Pioneer Square, or over to Broadway on Capitol Hill. Take the buses to anywhere in Seattle. Walk to Pratt Park and Broadcast Coffee.

It was a fabulous stay! We discovered a wonderful cafe about a third of a mile away this time, and the entire city was accessible via nearby bus!

Charming house, loved the decor. Location was perfect. Unfortunately we visited during a heat wave and the house was very warm and made sleeping upstairs uncomfortable. Also wished there was a tv for down time. However we had a great time playing games and enjoyed our stay.

Had a lovely time staying here! The house is very charming and a great location for us as we were dropping our kid off at Seattle U. The house has everything you'd need. Thanks for the coffee! :) Neighborhood is quiet and street parking wasn't an issue. Also Christa is a very responsive host when I had questions. Would definitely rent this place again.

Our band played a show in Seattle as the last stop on our tour, and this was the perfect place for us to relax, each have our own space, and get a couple of good nights’ rest. Our time at Christa’s rental was even better than we could have imagined. The location was perfect for catching the bus into the city and getting to a few local stores and restaurants by foot! It was also a great, comfortable place to come back to relax and cook family dinners after a day of exploring. The home itself was incredibly spacious with all of the amenities we could have ever desired. We made magical memories and are forever grateful to Christa for being such a gracious host. We hope to come back and stay again in March! :‱)

Properly was nice, only thing there were no TVs. Other then that it was an amazing property close to downtown Seattle. Parking was a little tricky at first but after the first night we figured it out. Christa was so helpful and answered all questions right away.

Christa was a very responsive and helpful host, letting us leave our luggage at the house early so we didn’t have to lug it around for hours! Location of home is not ideal if you’re looking to be surrounded by shops, restaurants etc but we just Ubered wherever we went. It also allowed us to find a couple of wonderful restaurants, coffee shops and other activities away from the downtown district.

Great stay in Seattle

We enjoyed our stay very much, kids loved finding stuffed animals, puzzles and books at the house. Easy access to all parts of town by car and street car. Kids loved the street car rides to the docks and the short walk to the pike market from there. Christa was very responsive during stay and helpful before our arrival with many tips and ideas for places to visit.

Perfect house for a weekend getaway

Spent a couple of nights in Seattle with my husband and friends and this house was perfect place to rest and regroup before embarking on all of our activities. The place was super clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our short stay. It was located far enough from the busy parts of the city to be quiet but close enough to be a short commute from the stadium, waterfront and night life. Would highly recommend and book again!

Great place!

The house was clean and well put together. The host provided a directory with stores and restaurants nearby within walking distance, and the house is located in a really convenient part of town. The only downside is the street parking. We didn't have any issues, but it could be a potential issue during a prolonged stay. The host, however, includes a map showing non restricted parking in the surrounding area that is helpful.

Loved this cozy, centrally located house

Staying in the this cozy house added so much to our visit to Seattle. Christa knew we were bringing two young children so left lots of stuff toys, books and games. The house had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. Parking our two cars was not a problem for us. We loved the neighborhood and would strongly recommend this rental to our friends visiting Seattle.

This was my first house. Where I could walk to work. Where I lived for 20 years and where I began to raise my three children.

I'm partially retired. I'm a former social worker in psychiatry, and a former software engineer and project manager. I "retired" early to run a couple small businesses - one is this vacation rental and then I also sit for dogs.

The house is in the Central District of Seattle, which always been a multi-racial area of Seattle. Here you can find lots of soul food restaurants, parks, the Pratt Fine Arts Center, Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute. Not too far away are the sports stadiums, downtown Seattle, Chinatown International District (C-ID), Madrona and Mt. Baker parks and beaches, Madison Park, Chuck's Hop Shop, Metier and Standard Breweries, and Uncle Ike's Pot Shop. Seattle University and the Cherry Hill Swedish Medical Complex are in walking distance.

The Central District has a rich multi-ethnic history. It was home to primarily Jewish people from 1890 to WWI. Then Danish people, the Japanese, and eventually African-Americans and other people of color. In more recent decades, more white people have moved in and the black ownership in the community is being represented by new initiatives and institutions like Wa Na Wari home for black arts and culture and Africatown Land Trust that built the new apartments and business district at 23rd and Union.

The house used to be one of many single-family homes in the neighborhood. Over the years, many homes have been torn down and new town homes and multi-family housing has been built. The house is now one of the remaining single-family homes left.

The neighborhood and some of the streets nearby are about as close as one can be to downtown and still park for free.
