Small rustic cabin on beautiful Sunset Lake with great views of the sunsets

Located 3 miles east of Iron River, Michigan, The Walleye Cabin is nestled in the pines on beautiful Sunset Lake. This 600+ acre lake is known for its great walleye and pike fishing as well as perch, crappie and panfish. We strive to offer comfort in a relaxed environment. If you are looking to step back in time and unplug from your day-to-day hectic life, this rustic cabin is for you.
The space
You will enjoy the small rustic cabin with 2 small bedrooms (Double Beds) and a loft for the kids (2
Twin Beds). living room has a queen size sofa sleeper. This lovely cabin has a pier to dock your boat and we provide 2 small kayaks. The cabin has a small deck facing the water with table and chairs. There is a shared fire pit, swim area, 2 pedal boats and fish house. Towels and bedding are not provided. The kitchen is fully stocked.
Wifi and basic Cable TV are included.

Nice getaway to the U.P with spouse and dog great location on lake minutes from town yet private, cabin is cute and rustic with dock and great deck facing the lake.

The best part was the deck - overlooking the gorgeous lake. The stove didn’t work as it should - they need to replace! It wouldn’t cost much to replace the ancient sink/cabinet corner - really should be done. Place was old, needs work but beds were ok and the bathroom was functional and clean. Didn’t see on website that sheets and towels were not provided. Found out via communication w owner as we were driving to the place. Made a stop at WalMart for those items.

Pros-Conveniently location-Well stocked.-Access to kayaks, row boat and paddle boat-The cabin on the water with nice dock-Fishing on Sunset lake was great-Comfy living room furniture-WiFi is excellent.Cons-The bedrooms, bathroom and kithchen are tiny.-Old mattresses, very uncomfortable-The electrical wiring trips breaker in kitchen-The kitchen drawer smelled aweful. There was mold on surfaces around the sink. Not a good option for folks with asthma.-The front door was falling off its hinges and was difficult to close and lock. -The floor in the kitchen is rotted by the door and caving in under the door mat.-There is no drive-up parking space at the cabin. Parking is about 150 ft. from the cabin.-We had to try our key code on three unoccupied cabins until the door to cabin #4 opened. Our cabin assignment was not clear-There was a mouse problem. We had to clean up mouse poop from around the kithchen sink area every morningIf you don’t mind the cons, then Sunset Cabins are inexpensive by comparison to other cabin rental options in the area. We are used to a higher quality standard at this price so it was not a good value for us and we won’t be returning customers.
