Kayak Cape Breton Cottages - Saint-Pierre, la Nouvelle-Écosse

Nos deux chalets en bois de cèdre sont situés directement sur le magnifique lac Bras d'Or et sont cachés les uns dans les autres dans une zone boisée de douze hectares pour sécuriser votre vie privée. Ils sont entièrement équipés pour vos vacances (serviettes et draps également fournis), avec une belle cuisine et toutes les commodités, barbecue, salon, deux chambres (1 queensize, les 2 autres lits simples), salle de bains, véranda, chauffage électrique. C'est un favori éprouvé pour les jeunes mariés, mais même une famille de cinq personnes peut être logée, et tous peuvent profiter de la retraite tranquille et du potentiel offert par le Lac Bras d'Or. Utilisez notre splendide plage pour s'étendre au soleil, faire de la natation, faire de la plongée en apnée ou de la pêche ou simplement vous promener dans les roches de plage. Caché sur la même propriété où nous vivons, vous pouvez également louer notre chalet spacieux de deux chambres à coucher, également bien équipé et situé directement sur l'entrée abritée du lac Bras d'Or, et avec un quai pour lancer un kayak ou un canoë et une plage pour nager à proximité. (Voir l'image). Vous pouvez explorer les différentes voies navigables et les îles en kayak ou en canoë (nous avons une large sélection de kayaks et de canoës, et nous offrons des cours et des visites). Vous pouvez également louer un vélo, faire de la randonnée dans les bois et regarder les oiseaux et choisir des baies ou des champignons. Et il y a tellement de choses à découvrir.
Vous pouvez explorer les différentes voies navigables et les îles en kayak ou en canoë (nous avons une large sélection de kayaks et canoës, et nous offrons des cours et des visites). Vous pouvez également louer un vélo, faire de la randonnée dans les bois et regarder les oiseaux et choisir des baies ou des champignons. Notre région offre de nombreuses autres activités comme le golf au Dundee Resort, la plongée, la voile ou à cheval. Et la magnifique longue plage de sable de Point Michaud ou la communauté de pêche francophone d'Isle Madame peut être atteinte en 45 minutes en voiture. Prévoyez une excursion d'une journée pour voir le célèbre sentier Cabot et la forteresse historique de Louisbourg. La ville pittoresque de St. Peters est à seulement 15 minutes en voiture où vous pouvez faire toutes vos courses, visiter des musées ou faire de la randonnée dans le parc provincial Battery, qui dispose également d'un terrain de camping sur l'océan.

We absolutely loved our stay! The cottage and property are both beautiful. Eberhard is a wonderful host, everything was clean when we arrived, and we had all the amenities we needed. We will definitely be back!

Beach

We had a wonderful stay , the veiws and beach was fabulous, lots of stairs to get down onto the beach. The cottage its self could use some up dating as the furniture was older. No TV was great we spent hours on the beach just building a firepit walking and just takingin the beauty that surrounded us. Not far from grocery store ect.. we loved our stay it was exactly what we needed.

West Bay Vacation

Beautiful location in Cape Breton. Great for families - the lake was calm during most of our trip, making it ideal for our children to swim in. In mornings, loved drinking coffee on porch overlooking water while watching the hummingbirds.

Great resting spot

The boathouse met our needs perfectly. We needed a spot to rest in the evenings and get a good night’s sleep. The boathouse was quiet and peaceful and our boys (ages 3 and 5) loved it. We also enjoyed the canoe rental.

Perfect place to enjoy the nature

After our arrival in the late evening, we enjoyed a warm welcome by Eberhard, who guided us to the house, which is accessible via a private path across a forest between the main street and Bras d'Or lake. So we really felt being away from stress of "regular" life. The location is totally private and quiet. Apart from Eberhard's second house for rent which is not visible due to the forest all around, the next neighbour can only be reached via the street or the beach. Thus, our only visitor was a squirrel looking into the windows. Although the weather was not really nice, we enjoyed 5 nights with relaxing noise from the wind and waves of Bras d'Or lake, which sounded like an ocean those days. At the last day there was no wind and it was absolutely quiet and peaceful. We also found nice places to explore which are not too far away from the location. Thanks again for this great time!

Serene Getaway

Remote, private and beautiful view. St Peters was charming and convenient. WiFi connection near office, not in cabin. Eberhard was welcoming and very helpful.

Hidden Gem on Bras d'Or Lake

We absolutely loved our stay at Kayak Cape Breton! We stayed in the boathouse cottage, which is rustic, but comfortable, clean and airy. It's a spacious apartment above the boathouse with a gorgeous view of the pond. Plenty of indoor & outdoor room for an adventurous family of four. (The pictures don't do it justice - we were pleasantly surprised.) The lake is a short walk down a wooded path. Even in the height of summer, we had the beach entirely to ourselves for swimming, paddle boarding and a campfire at night. We rented kayaks one day and paddled to a secluded island a mile away. Eberhart is a fabulous host and takes excellent care of the property. He was helpful with information about the area and very accommodating with check-in/check-out times and kayak rentals. If our travels take us back to Cape Breton, we will definitely rent the cottage again.

rustic cabin with amazing views and lake access

We were warmly welcomed by the owner, Eberhard, to his quaint cottage by Bras D'Or Lake. The kitchen, while very basic, was well furnished and the house was well maintained and clean. I call it rustic as it is no-frills (no wifi!) and the decorating is circa 1980. But of course, you don't come to Cape Breton for the decor, but for the amazing beauty around you. While the cottage is on the small side, and very basic in its furnishings, it has an amazing view of the lake right from the living room/dining area. The cottage was fine for my husband and I, size wise, but if you came with children you might find it a tight squeeze, depending on how much time you will be spending inside. It is a short hike down a few (slightly steep) steps to the lake where you have the entire beach to yourself - amazing! The closest (20 minutes away by car) town of St. Peters has a number of small eateries (nothing fancy) and a grocery store. The only down-side for us was that we came to Cape Breton to hear the local Celtic music. What I found out is that the music scene is on the other side of the island, an hour and a half away! While St.Peters is a lovely area, and the cabin perfect for a short refuge from civilization (perfect to hole away and write that next best-seller), it is far from most of the culture and activity of Cape Breton. Additionally, the kayaking that is advertised is not available from the cottage, but rather from the owner's home, about a 10 minute drive away. He also rents you the kayaks, which seems a bit cheap for those people renting his cabins. But this was a small issue, and in general we had a lovely time!

The boathouse cottage was wonderful !

We spent a week in the boathouse cottage on the southern shore of the Bras d'Or, where we shared the cove with a pair of bald eagles, and it was a very comfortable and relaxing place in a beautiful setting to come back to after kayaking or a day of exploring Cape Breton. Eberhard was a helpful, kind, and generous host throughout our stay. We fell in love with the area and look forward to returning at some point. Thanks !!
