The location was great for our purposes (attending a show at Floore's Country Store). The house is dated and needs some maintenance. Many bugs (both living and dead). Pool was full of bugs and leaves. We cleaned it as best we could ourselves, but there was no brush, only a skimming net. There are many sliding glass doors and windows throughout, which is great given the lovely tree views, but they are old and not insulated making it hard to keep the house cool. The poor windows and doors could also really use a good wash. The kitchen is pretty well stocked for basic cooking. A few basic spices and some cooking oil. Decent pots and pans and utensils and plenty of dishware. No sponge, only one kitchen towel, no oven mitts, and no foil. The bathrooms are very small. Downstairs has many beds, so a larger group would struggle with the little bathroom and every bed full. The beds we used were comfortable and there were plenty of towels, and hand soap, but no bar soap or body wash in the bathrooms. Bring those supplies with you.Overall we enjoyed our stay, but for the rental amount, the house could do better for its guests.
I had the privilege of staying at the Helotes Treehouse. The online pictures are exactly what you will see when staying here, but there is so much more.
First itâs private, secluded and quit. But youâre not even 2 miles from Heloteâs sprawling urban amenities. HEB, Walmart, Target, Whataburger and many more places are less than 5 minutes away from this location. this was great for us, as we had multiple needs for our Thanksgiving feast.
The basement provides outside access and a great bathroom space. It was great for our teens.
The first floor is spacious with a table in the dining room and kitchen along with a nice sized island in the kitchen.
When we arrived this place was very clean. We loved the towels so much that we ordered our own and had them delivered to our home in Michigan while we were at the treehouse.
If you like hiking, go walk around in the back of the property. Itâs on almost 5 acres.
This place was amazing and would easily be my first choice on our next trip to the San Antonio area.
