Great Escape

The Great Escape is ready to welcome guests with open arms. This beautiful home boasts endless amenities to suit all ages. Walking through the front door, guests are greeted with stunning wood floors and an open concept living space. Noting this, guests can enjoy spending their time whipping up meals for friends and family to enjoy, while also feel apart of living room conversations. In colder months, curl up on the plush sectional located right next to the fireplace and get lost in a good book. The home also comes equipped with a private washer and dryer, allowing guests to wash away the days activities. Don't forget to pack a swimsuit and check out the private hot tub located on the bottom floor of the home, as it is truly the perfect location for some star gazing or an early morning soak.

For our adventure-seekers, there are a plethora of nearby activities that guests can explore including swimming at the lake, going golfing, or heading to the ski hill. There is also a nearby mini-golf course for those looking to challenge friends and family to some competition. Local eateries will be sure to provide plenty of options while exploring all McHenry has to offer. Whether guests choose to stay in or go out, there are memories going to be made that will last a lifetime!

This is our second time staying at this property. George and Kelli are remarkable hosts. They are both very communicative and responsive. What we most appreciate about this property is the cleanliness and comfort. I am VERY picky when it comes to cleanliness and I have zero complaints about this home. The beds are very comfortable as well as the furnishings. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and there is an additional bathroom on the main floor. There is ample room for several people to sleep. The property is VERY close to Wisp (within walking distance). The property is also close to the lake and local amenities. The home has everything you could need for a nice little get away and is nicely furnished and decorated. There is a grill, kitchen aid mixer, air fryer, coffee pot, and everything you need to cook meals. It is kid friendly and perfect for families or groups. I appreciate the thoughtful touches such as board games, a few toys, and the chalk wall by the pool table. The hot tub has a nice view of the woods. There is even a firepit out back by the hot tub. We will absolutely be booking for next year. This is a great home away from home for a nice little get away!

Nice property. Very clean. Very close to all attractions. I had the chance to speak to both George and Kellie, the hosts. They were very responsive to all our needs. I would recommend this property for others looking in this area.

Great location

The house is the perfect size for family. Large enough to have space but not to large to make cleaning an issue. The location is 13 minutes from the beach and fishing and 17 minutes from the must sees. Great place we would come back

Lovely Place

My family enjoyed our stay here. It was very peaceful, but fun. The communication was great. George and Kellie provided us with multiple things to do during our stay and were very attentive to any questions or concerns that we had. The home was spacious for all of our family to stretch out. I would def recommend!

Spacious and Incredible Proximity!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Great Escape! Our large group had plenty of space to spread out while also having numerous spacious areas in the home to enjoy each other’s company. The proximity to Wisp can’t be beat and the hot tub/firepit area overlooking the woods was a real treat. Hope to be back soon!

World class WISP accommodation

This is an absolute slam dunk home away from home at Deep Creek. Whether you want to hike or ski, it is the perfect location and George And Kellie are the best host and hostess! This home accommodated our family of six and everyone’s desire to have their own space but also have a gathering space. Everything you need is here.!It’s really 11 stars on a scale of one to 10!

The Great Escape!

We had an incredible stay at the Great Escape over the 4th of July 2024!! We have been to Deep Creek many times and the Great Escape location is perfect! It is across the street from The Wisp, and a two minute drive to the lake, Shop N Save plaza, several restaurants and other attractions. Swallow Falls, Lodestone, The Honi, Firewater, and the state park beach were all easily accessible. The house is beautiful and the layout was ideal for our group of family and friends. We loved the game room with pool table, board games in the large kitchen and living room, and the outside hot tub and deck for grilling. The kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials. The bedrooms are large, very comfortable and well spaced throughout the house. We can't say enough great things about the Great Escape! It is the ideal home to enjoy all four seasons at Deep Creek and we are already excited for our next visit!!

Great location, great house, great owners!

We had a great week at Great Escape! We were at Deep Creek Lake for a family reunion, so we had a large group. The Bankys were so great with communication, even sending us info about suggested things to do, places to go and to eat. We had an issue with the air conditioning when we first arrived, and they were super responsive in getting someone out to assess and fix the problem. The house is super close to Wisp resort and all of the activities there, as well as being in a great location in general for the whole Deep Creek Lake area. This was our third or fourth time renting this house, which should tell you what you need to know about how we feel about it. Highly recommend!
