A few minutes from Joshua Tree National Park's main entrance and walking distance to the quirky town of Joshua Tree and the official park visitor center, the Sunburst is an eclectic space with all the amenities you need for a quick jaunt into the park (roadtrippers, we salute you!) or a week-long retreat with a private hot tub, a grill, and an outdoor chiminea fire pit. Enjoy some of the best starriest night skies and purply-pink sunsets in CA. We hope you love our Mojave home as much as we do!
The stay was great! Perfect location for 2-3 days exploring Joshua Tree and going to our friends' wedding. Air conditioning worked great, loved the decorations, and the water cooler & coffee machine were useful. It was also nice to eat lunch in the backyard and have easy parking in the driveway. The hot tub wasn't super hot, but that's okay because the sun was.
We chose this place because it was very near the West entrance of JT and we were going in middle of night to take astrophotos. It worked very well. Quiet too because the next morning we had to sleep in after being up all night!
I loved my stay at the Sunburst! The room is bright and cheerful, with fun art everywhere you look. The bed was comfy, the shower warm, the refrigerator cold--and you cannot beat a fire and a hot tub soak under the stars! Will definitely return. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed our stay at the Sunburst property. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and worked well for the two of us. I knew from the listing that the washer and dryer were in a separate room with a coded lock, however I did not know the microwave and refrigerator were also located in this room. This was a disappointment.
The property was just as listed and much cuter in person! The decor was great and my partner and Iâs stay was made much more memorable by the atmosphere and comfortability that the property afforded us!
Bed and shower, laundry next door. Basic and clean. Didnât use hot tub or backyard. No table or chair in room. Unable to use coffee maker and not able to get hot water for tea so had to make stop before hiking.
This property was fantastic! My wife and I love all the amenities. The place was quite clean and well kept. The hot tube was great under the stars. We will absolutely be back again!
We loved our night at the Sunburst! Centrally located, thoughtful touches, and great amenities. Private and comfortable. Thanks for opening your home to us!
We had a very fun and relaxing stay at this lovely little vrbo. It was super clean and centrally located near restaurants and shops as well as very close to the parks entrance. Check in and out was super easy and little touches like holiday candy and a nespresso machine made things feel extra special.
Overall the stay was good and had no complaints about the host! HoweverâŠthe listing is a bit misleading. The pictures & listing make it seem like the backyard is completely private, however the hosts house spans the entire backyard and is actually completely open to the backyard with open windows everywhere. The hot tub is about 2 steps from the hosts patio deck and you can see into their bedroom while youâre sitting in it. The host was really sweet but it was overall just really weird to see people home through the windows when trying to have a romantic getaway with your partner. Had the listing been more honest we would have stayed somewhere else.
My name is Marissa, and traveling (in VRBOs especially) is my absolute favorite! My experiences as a guest have been nothing but positive. I live with my husband Parker and we are originally from Toronto/Charleston, SC and Dallas. We are excited to share our home (and the Mojave) with you!
We are in a prime location â about a five-minute drive to the popular west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park and a short walk to the center of town with its shops and eateries. It is relatively quiet on a paved street in a residential neighborhood but we still see a lot of wildlife and can access local hiking trails! Nature is in our backyard so if you're looking to get away from it all (but not THAT far away from it all), this is the place to be!
Our home was built in 1952 and is one of the remaining original homes in the quirky town of Joshua Tree! It is historic and has a lot of character, which we have embellished since we moved in. We love color and antique finds so this is the opposite of the ultra-modern white boxes you typically see in the desert built by LA transplants. Our guests have said that it's better than the pictures!
