Beautiful. Unique. Historic bones with modern amenities. Brand new renovation. Huge 4 poster mahogany queen bed with memory foam mattress. Large bathroom. 30' ft long sun porch, with a bank of arched windows looking over the West Garden. Full kitchen. Dishwasher, washer and dryer. ADA compatible-except the bed is a bit high. Queen sofabed can accommodate more - comfortable with extra memory foam topper : )

From Ms. Pam to the beautiful apartment in the Layton Castle it was the perfect relaxing get away. The grounds are beautiful too.

While we enjoyed Monroe, visiting the Duck Commander museum, eating amazing barbecue at Jac's, amazing biscuits at The Delra Biscuit, this was the first of our many VRBO stays where our STAY was the highlight!! Apartment 6 at the Layton Castle is fit for royalty! Just recently renovated, beautifully finished and furnished! Also the host, has tho't of everything...even providing a full set of spices! Definitely the best place we have ever stayed:)

A little slice of country charm

Best VRBO experience. This place is so beautiful, inviting and warming . I loved all the glass windows to watch gods little creatures and the beautiful flowers. The owners are so nice, kind and thoughtful. Will definitely be back . Thank you again .

We recently had the privilege of staying at this incredible castle, and it was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived, the castle took our breath away—towering stone walls, lush greenery surrounding the property, and a sense of history that permeated every corner. The staff was incredibly attentive, offering a warm welcome and Pam our host, ensuring that every detail of our stay was taken care of. Overall, our stay at the castle was an unforgettable experience. It blended the charm of a historical setting with the luxury of modern hospitality, making it the perfect retreat for those looking to escape and immerse themselves in something truly extraordinary. We cannot recommend this place enough.

Gorgeous large apartment inside a castle

Everything about the apartment was stunning! Fully equipped down to the coffee; but the bed was the real stunner. All of the rooms were large with an ultra modern kitchen and bathroom. The living room and bedroom resembled that of a bygone era. The hosts were readily available and friendly. I am recommending to all of my acquaintances.

What a wonderful place ❀

This property is THE BEST ONE YET. I was a little cautious about staying in an apartment. We have always rented houses. Who ever knew that there is this wonderful, breathtaking place in Monroe, Louisiana. You will never want to stay anywhere else.

We are the 6th generation to live at Layton Castle...though I did not grow up here, I visited often and loved the place. My mother grew up here and inherited it and after she passed, my husband and I became the stewards. It is a treasure - and a handful to manage. We live in the historic upstairs suite, along with our dog, Taetum.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

This has been a declining neighborhood, in terms of upkeep, but it is slowly being rescued, as is the downtown, which is just north of us. We are within a mile or 2 of most of the best restaurants in town! Our property is fully enclosed and feels like a retreat or sanctuary.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Some of our ads says "Live in a garden" or "Live in a castle". Both are true. Beautiful huge old trees (live oak, magnolia, pecan, crepe myrtle) as well as 40+ camellias, hydrangeas, azaleas. There is almost always something blooming here. Then of course there's the huge red brick castle structure! About as unique as it gets : )
