Built in 1903, this charming building is over 120 years old and full of character. While it has been tastefully renovated with modern updates—including forced heat and central air conditioning—please note that soundproofing was not a feature back then, so quiet hours are kindly expected and appreciated out of respect for all guests and neighbors.
🛏️ This is one of four private apartments in the building. Your unit is fully private and thoughtfully decorated for comfort and enjoyment. If you plan to walk around late at night, we ask that you kindly remove your shoes to help maintain a peaceful atmosphere.

Parties, events, or unauthorized gatherings are strictly prohibited. Immediate eviction without refund will occur if you are found in violation of this policy.

You will be charged for any damage to towels, bed linens, furniture, rugs, or other items beyond normal wear and tear.
🚗 Parking Policy
Each reservation includes 1 designated parking spot. Any additional vehicle must be pre-approved and will incur a $50 per day fee.
⏰ Early Check-In
Early check-in may be available for a $50 fee. Note: Complimentary early check-in is only offered for stays of 7 nights or more if available. Please do not request early check-in for shorter stays without accepting the fee.
⏳ Late Check-Out
Late check-out is subject to availability and must be arranged in advance. • $50 fee for check-out extensions up to 1:00 PM. • Check-outs beyond 1:00 PM will incur a total fee of $170 ($50 standard + $120 extended). Unauthorized late check-outs may result in additional charges.
👥 Extra Guest Fee
Reservations are for the number of guests listed at booking. Any additional guest after midnight beyond the maximum occupancy will result in a $50 per guest, per night charge.
🚽 Toilet Use
To prevent plumbing issues, only toilet paper may be flushed. All other items (wipes, paper towels, hygiene products, etc.) must be disposed of in the trash bins provided.

Pets must be approved in advance. • If traveling with a pet, please bring a crate/kennel. • Pets may not be left unattended in the apartment at any time without prior permission.

The house was clean and had everything as advertised. The neighbourhood was relatively unclean and run down, though we felt safe. Definitely a good deal for 4 people if you want to save money compared to staying downtown. It's about 10 minute car ride to downtown Detroit

The host was very accessible, pleasant, and communicative. The towels however were damp and the apartment smelled of cigarettes. It was fairly clean other than that. Neighborhood was pretty run down but didn't feel unsafe.

The apartment was good - clean, comfortable and exactly as described. The area is a little run down but felt safe throughout the day and night. Only issue was that the owner was not pleased that I plugged my car into a regular outlet for charging. Never had an issue with this anywhere else, and it is not a safety hazard which the owner is claiming. He charged a fee for ‘breaking the rules’ even though there was nothing said about how electrical outlets could/should be used up front.

It was ok
We just needed a place to stay for one night after a concert. Getting in was a little challenge. You have to go around to the front of the house and there is no sidewalk or lights. There was no ice or water from the frig. Coffee maker didn’t work. So to just sleep, it was adequate. Check out is an hour earlier than most places.

Terrible guest,
Unfortunately Catherine is stuck in the past and has no idea how to operate a keyless entry. I find it odd that she’s complaining about the entry into the apartment is from the front of the house. That’s usually the entry point. I don’t drink water from the tap hence I didn’t connect it to refrigerator. I provided bottled water, I wish I can post a video to refute Catherine’s claim.

The house itself was fine - the apartment was minimal with nothing more than bare essentials, but it was clean. The street was on the edge of a nice part of town, it felt mostly safe. The experience we had overnight was terrible - the downstairs neighbors were loud all night, keeping us up until 6am, and the house was overwhelmed with the smell of marijuana even after we opened windows to air it out. When we brought this up with the property manager he insisted we were mistaken. This property would be fine for an individual without sensitivity to noise or smoke, but would not recommend for a family.

I have a strict no smoking policy, any guest who breaks certain rules will be asked to leave. Smoking is one of those rules.
Paula left and complained about other guests smoking, we investigated and did not find any credible evidence to support her claims. I am very sensitive to smoking and don’t like it, but it will be irresponsible of me to accuse others without proof.
We take guests complaints seriously because safety and guest wellbeing is our priority, that being said i don’t want to contradict Paula. She may have had her reasons for her review, unfortunately, our investigation didn’t support her claims.
