This is a stand alone home originally built and lived in by Kauai's famous Lappert's Ice Cream founder. Offering epic views of the sunset, moonrise, moonset, Spouting Horn, and the "forbidden island", Ni'ihau all from your private home, bedrooms, pool and wraparound lanai.

This house is incredible. The views are priceless; the custom furniture is impeccable and so comfie. The linens and towels are first class. The kitchen is outfitted with everything you can think of and then more. The private pool, tiki bar and game room were so much fun. We saw whales off the deck every morning and evening. We walked to Poipu Beach to see the turtles every day. The sunrises off the deck were even better than the gorgeous sunsets every night. The host, Jimmy, is so friendly and helpful. We had the best vacation and can’t wait to go back to this amazing place! If you have the chance, rent this place. It truly is one of a kind. We’ve rented places all over the world and this one is by far the nicest.

Stunning Ocean Views

Beautiful, clean, and well stocked house. Amazing ocean views. Our wonderful host, Jimmy, was very attentive and provided tons of tips on sightseeing and local restaurants. This place is so beautiful and peaceful, you will never want to leave.

Family Vacation 2025

We just completed a 2 week stay in this amazing home. Jimmy was an outstanding host from the time we booked, check-in and thru our stay. We enjoyed the beaches, golfing, sunset cruise,luau,kayaking, area restaurants but most of all our time at the house. The pool was perfect. We saw turtles and dolphins from the deck. And the sunsets were spectacular. Would 100% recommend this home for your Kauai vacation!!!!

Stunning property!

We had the most amazing stay. The house is beautiful and very comfortable and well stocked. The view and location are unbeatable. We saw turtles, whales and dolphins from our balcony. Jimmy is the best host! He is so friendly and helpful. We can't wait to return!

An oasis on Poipu Beach!

There aren’t enough superlatives to describe this amazing home. The views are spectacular from sunrise to sunset, the breeze sublime, and the comfort unparalleled. My family and I just spent Christmas week here and can’t wait to return. The house is perfectly stocked (has everything you need and then some) and Jimmy the host makes sure you have recommendations for restaurants, activities and experiences galore. Our favorite moments were the quiet ones relaxing in different parts of the spacious house, quietly enjoying the sound of the waves breaking on the rocks. This home will cure what ails you!

OFF THE CHART WONDERFUL !!

It's actually hard to describe just how precious this oceanfront property is... a truly unique spot replete with crashing surf, picturescue sunset views, a family of sea turtles constantly entertaining.... you feel such a part of the surrounding natural beauty. The private pool right at waters edge was in constant gleeful use by our granddaughter. If all that isn't enough your host (Jimmy) makes you feel so very welcome, and has a true servant heart. He truly seems to delight in making sure you have all that you need for a perfect stay in this little slice of paradise. Above and beyond!

This home is a hidden gem with so much Hawaiian history. Even those who have lived here for generations are astounded when they experience this home. It truly is one-of-a-kind and this home is continually called the best view on the Island. Without question, the best on Kauai's sunny South Shore.

We love sharing our home and the Island with visitors. We enjoy sharing what we have learned by living here with others, so they may have the best possible experience while making life long memories.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

"The best view and location on the Island". I know that is a bold statement, yet we are repeatedly told this by those who have lived here for generations.

Makahuena Point was a spiritual location for the Ancient Hawaiians. This is the Southernmost point of Kauai. This Home was built on the very edge of Makahuena Point. Walter Lappert, the founder of the legendary Lapperts handmade ice-cream in Hawaii chose to live in this home for many years.

The ocean at Makahuena Point becomes shallow and attracts Whales, Dolphins, Turtles and more are all visible from the Lanai, Pool, Bedrooms, and Living Room of the home.

The pool is perched on the ocean. Pools on Kauai can no longer be built on the ocean as this one was. You feel as if you are floating on the Ocean as you swim and lounge in the sun..

Sunsets are spectacular all year round from this location. You have your own lawn and garden area. The view is spectacular and sweeps beyond 200°. Ni'ihau, Spouting Horn and all of the South Shore is visible from this home.

The sound and sight of ocean waves breaking on the shore that is your back yard are hypnotically beautiful. Words can't describe the beauty and feeling of this place.
