Heathmore Haven, family friendly home close to Lake Michigan

About the space
Welcome friends! We’re excited to share our dream vacation home with you! Nestled in a peaceful neighborhood across the street from a public Lake Michigan beach and just 9 miles from St Joe, our place is private but close to all that southern Michigan has to offer. Enjoy the local beaches, fruit farms, wineries, shopping, and hiking, or relax on the back porch with a cup of local coffee. Our dog friendly, three bedroom, two bathroom home has space for all and is perfect for families and friends, looking to play hard and rest well.

The space
Our home is a split level, with three sizable bedrooms and a full bathroom on the upper level, a full kitchen, dining room, and living room on the main level, and a game room, full bathroom, and laundry room on the lower level. Our outdoor space features a picnic table, back deck, and fire pit surrounded by a spacious back yard lined with mature trees.

Start your morning enjoying a cup of local coffee on the private back porch in the morning. Go on an adventure to St Joseph, just 9 miles to the south, or South Haven 17 miles north. Enjoy the many wineries, breweries, beaches, and fruit farms of southern Michigan. Or stay close to home, walk (10 minutes) or drive (2 minutes) through our neighborhood and across M-63 to Hagar Beach Park where you and the kids can play on the playground, or read books on the beach. Grab dinner at Del Maggios pizza just down the road and end your day with a game night in the basement or smores by the fire pit!

Guest access
You’ll have the entire house to yourself! Please note, you will have to climb 7 steps to get to the bedrooms and the bathrooms. You can park multiple cars in the driveway, but the garage is locked. As for getting into the home, we use an electronic keypad and will send you the code a few days before your stay!

Other things to note
We stock the kitchen with basic seasonings, cooking oil, and coffee so feel free to take those things off your grocery list. Our game room has a foosball table and game table as well as board games and card games. If you’re not a board game person, feel free to borrow a book from our mini library. If you’re feeling outdoorsy we have spike ball and Kan Jam you can set up in the yard.

Hagar Park Beach is 0.4 miles from the house, across M-63. We love this public park/beach!! It has a fenced-in playground by the parking lot, then you’ll go down A LOT of stairs to get to the beach. The cottage has an assortment of beach toys and chairs that is available for guest use.

My family is from Coloma and, while I grew up in the Indianapolis area, my summers were spent escaping to Lake Michigan. I have so many beautiful memories in Southern Michigan, from sun filled family vacations, to spur of the moment weekends with friends, to getaways recentering myself on the shores of the Lake. My hope is you and yours might find some of that Lake Michigan magic and make your own beautiful memories here!
