There’s plenty of opportunities for shopping, dining, recreation, sightseeing, or quiet rest in this area. You’ll have a little glimpse of the daily experience of the Amish sect when your lightning, and fan are via battery adapted appliances, and others through solar or propane. The host and owners are very hospitable and friendly, and go way beyond the usual hosts to create a warm and welcoming environment.

If you are looking for a nice place to stay in the country, and yet close to everything, this place fits that bill. We also love that it is very clean and modern, yet lacking in distracting technology. It is the perfect place to go to truly get away from it all.

We had a very peaceful stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, beautiful surroundings outside and the special homemade treats made by our host were delicious. We left well rested. Also, our host was readily available for any questions we had about everything, including nice places to eat in the area. Wonderful time!

5 Stars – A Beautiful and Romantic Getaway! My future husband and the man of my dreams, George, and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Woodside Retreat in Nappanee, Indiana! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. The peaceful atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and attention to detail made this the perfect place for us to relax, unwind, and enjoy some much-needed quality time together. The thoughtful little touches made our stay even more special. The delicious homemade bread, peanut butter, and fresh apples were such a wonderful and unexpected gesture. It’s those small acts of kindness and hospitality that truly make a place stand out.We especially loved the beautiful lanterns! They added so much warmth, charm, and character to the property. George loved them so much that he joked about wishing he could take four of them home! What made our stay so memorable was the opportunity to escape the everyday hustle and bustle, slow down, and simply enjoy each other’s company. There is something truly special about being in such a peaceful and romantic setting with the person you love and envision spending the rest of your life with. You can tell that a great deal of thought, care, and pride goes into making guests feel comfortable and welcome. Everything about our experience made us feel right at home.We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and grateful for the beautiful memories we made together. Woodside Retreat will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Lovely, unique property. A shed was converted to a lovely living quarters with plenty of space. Very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was very large with beautiful cabinets and dishes. Well stocked with everything you would need. A fresh loaf of bread and butter was set out with other snacks. We came for the Blueberry festival in Plymouth. Would definitely stay at this place again when we had more time to enjoy the features.

Lovely and Comfortable

My husband and I were in town for several family gatherings. We enjoyed the "Retreat" as a place to unwind and prepare for the next. It's very comfortable and the patio-like living room was so pretty! There were yummy goodies for us in the kitchen too! Such a simple, but much appreciated, welcoming gesture. We came prepared for "no electricity" as the description states, but all the necessities were run from batteries or gas. We were over-prepared, LOL! Thank you Joe and Alma! We will definitely keep the "Woodland Retreat" in mind for future visits. :)
