Cozy 3 Bedroom Cabin on Private Lake with canoe. Pet friendly!

Just 10 miles from Alexandria, this location is all you will need to be close to the city, or relax and enjoy the outdoors. Two levels, two living rooms, three bedrooms, and a full kitchen/bathroom are part of this cabin. Plenty of outdoor fun on a private lake, In unit laundry, tv, and wifi!
Note: this is a country lake home in the woods. Bugs, small woodland animals, and natural elements are all part of your lake experience.
The space
You can wake up to deer and turkeys walking by in the morning. Spend the day out on the canoe or paddle boat for a trip around the lake, or to find the special spot where the big fish are hiding. In the evening, the loons will lull you to sleep in the quiet of the night. Beautiful sunsets over the private South Crooked Lake Bay will draw you to the dock for a peaceful evening of fishing, campfires, and outdoor dining...across the bay is a breathtaking view of rolling hills of alfalfa and trees... Peace, quiet, and nature abound.

In the cooler months, the Andes Tower Ski Hills offers a fun mountain for all levels of skiers, snowboarders, and tubers. Snow is made as early as October, and the lifts run just as long! There are trails for cross-country skiing or biking. The private access to Crooked Lake also allows ice anglers to have seclusion as they set up their ice houses. The drive is plowed but we highly recommend driving a 4x4 or AWD vehicle.

The nearby city of Alexandria is a gem of Western Minnesota year-round, as it has tons to do for all family members! The Andria Theatre offers mainstage shows and special events. The Big Splash Indoor water park allows guests to swim at any time of the year. There is a local YMCA for members to get their steps in before relaxing the day away. Casey’s Amusement Park offers go-carts and bumper boats and Lakes Area Jump 4 Fun serves as another year-round place to visit. 22 Northmen Brewing Company and Carlos Creek Winery offer fun activities, including wine tastings, tours, lawn games, and live music! There are countless things to do and plenty of nature to escape the city life's hustle and bustle. This cozy cabin offers it all!

This cabin was nice and cozy we stayed here on coldest days of the year we went ice fishing here fish bite was slow it was peaceful. Thanks for the great stay.

Place to sleep while at brother's lake cottage.

We used this primarily for sleeping and eating breakfast. We spent most of the day with family on another lake, so we never took advantage of this lake access. It slept 6 adults with no problem AND a pack an play. Comfortable, clean, great to have a washer and dryer in the lower level! Thank you for a great stay!

Family Fun Fishing

We had a great stay. We caught so many fish, mostly northern and bass. It was awesome to be able to bring our dog who had so much fun exploring.

Awesome secluded getaway

Some family members and I were looking for a place to relax and enjoy time together and were extremely pleased with the property itself and communications with the property owner. Of your looking for a secluded quiet place to enjoy I'd recommend checking this place out!!

Serene get away

This is a beautiful property and cabin in lake country, especially for nature lovers! The lake was so calm and we enjoyed the paddleboat. Right by the shore are patio chairs, table and fire pit. The cabin IS cozy, kitchen is small, but has new essentials such as plates, utensils, pots, pans and complimentary coffee and tea. Bedrooms are small-- no closets but beds are very comfortable! Bathroom is updated with toiletries and plenty of towels. Loved sitting on deck listening to bird songs by day, sound of quiet and frogs at night! Caillen is an excellent, responsive host! We so enjoyed hiking around the area, especially Kensington Rune Park.

We appreciated the location and the potential of this property, but unfortunately our stay was impacted by a few issues. When we arrived, the home was not as clean as expected, especially considering the cleaning fee. During our stay, we experienced problems with the AC not working, the outdoor light being out (which made nighttime dog walks difficult), and the deck not being well maintained. We also encountered a rodent issue that led us to end our stay early.The host was responsive and open to feedback, which we appreciated. With some improvements, this could be a much more comfortable and enjoyable place to stay.

Depends why you’re going and group size

I was looking for a nice private cabin on a lake that allows pets, for my immediate family to relax and reconnect so Mom & dad, 3 adult children and grandma, so 6 adults 2 dogs and a cat. This is not the ideal cabin for that, in my opinion a cabin sleeping 6 should have adequate space for 6 people to comfortably sit in the same room for meals or board games this cabin only seats 3 for indoor eating and upstairs futon is rock hard. Also 6 people staying 5 days have lots of stuff, clothes, food, games
there is zero storage/closet space. The lake is beautiful, we could catch fish off dock, also took advantage of canoe. Grandma only braved the trek to lake once as it’s a steep rutted path. Dogs enjoyed swimming in lake but not ideal swimming for people. Neighbors are very close, so not as peaceful as I’d hoped. Listed amenities, enough towels, soap etc were not provided or at least not restocked adequately for our group. A smaller group may fare better.

We arrived and there was an awful smell we found 3 mouse traps full of rotting dead mice and assumed that was the source of the smell. We contacted the owners and said we could get rid of some dead mice and just figured we would deal with it. We aired out the house and then left for the day. Came back and smell was still bad. Asked hosts of there was more mice traps. We checked all known traps. No mice. Investigated the smell further and found a bucket that was catching a leak that was backing up into the basement from the septic tank so they knew they had an issue and had a bucket to catch it. This was the source of the smell - raw sewage. We notified the hosts and expected a full refund as we cannot stay where raw sewage is leaking in and causing a terrible sewage gas smell. They refused to refund. We also called the local inspectors to let them know about this uninhabitable property. Hopefully they will be shut down soon. And property owner should be concerned before they have an entire sewage backup and not just a leak. Disgusting and reprehensible to not make this right when you severely negatively impacted someone’s vacation with their family.

This was mine and my families first vacation in 8 years , while searching we looked for a place for a family including fur babies and came across this home on a private lake and looked into it and it sounded perfect peaceful just big enough for everybody to have some space of there own but not to much so it felt like we weren't together and our dogs loved it running around and even out in the canoe and our kayaks with us we took with from home . Listening to the cyoties was nice we camp a lot so it was nice to hear them howling out there too we didn't fish but seen a lot of big fish jumping out of the water it rained just a little bit so we were out on water most of our stay I loved it seen some birds haven't seen before and there wasn't much flys or sqeters like I would have thought for being by the lake , also really nice to have washer and dryer there so we could wash laundry since I decided to flip out of my kayak twice lol going threw the lake my favorite spot was the end of the lake that has all kinds of lilly pads floating on the surface of the water IV never seen that but on TV so that was really pretty to me and standing on the deck looking out over the trees was pretty felt like being out in the woods which I like a lot the next door people did get a bit loud at times but it was private other then that and all the house supplies that are available made it so easy to cook /live there threw our stay .Planning again next year for longer stay.

I picked this place because I could bring 3 dog and it had 3 bedrooms. I was warned it was small in advance. In general the cleaning wasn’t good. The kitchen was well supplied but the refrigerator/ freezer took along time to cool. The freezer is gross and needs a good cleaning. The air conditioner worked hard to keep cool, glad we bought fans. The bottom level of cabin was nice but the steps going down were horrible. Narrow, steep and no handle rail. The only way out of basement was the steep steps or a window as the back door wouldn’t open.Spend a lot of time on the deck. It’s a nice deck with a gate to keep the puppies in, and a nice view of the lake. The picnic table was falling apart. Nothing but a pinch hazard and very grimy. Didn’t use at all. It’s a steep rudder path to the lake that was scary at night but we did it and we enjoyed the fire pit area. The canoe was nice but the oars were broken and the paddle boat worked best going backwards. Very peaceful, calm sunsets which were beautiful. In general we made the most of it, but we did leave a day early.
