Originally built by the family of former Vice President James Schoolcraft Sherman in 1903, this magnificent lakeside retreat has been fully updated for you to marvel at the spectacular views of Fourth Lake. Nestled perfectly along pristine waterfront, 'Ski-Side' offers a panoramic view of the mountains, lake, and wildlife. Effortlessly accommodate your group with expansive living space, 4 total bedrooms consisting of 2 Master Suites, and 3.5 spacious baths, all outfitted with modern amenities.
'Ski-Side' features magnificent lake and mountain views from every room in the home. The sunsets here are simply the best, offering you the choice of viewing on the 100' wraparound porch or the second story deck that is accessible from each bedroom. You will have direct access to the lake from the 400 sq. ft. dock, which offers all-day sun and plenty of room for your boat or watercraft. After spending the day in the sun, enjoy the brand new central air conditioning system.
Upon entering the main level, you will walk into a fully appointed kitchen outfitted with all new appliances - including a washer and dryer - complimented by the 8' island and dedicated counter space to serve as your personal bar or barista center. Directly off of the kitchen is access to a half-bath and formal dining area that can comfortably seat 10. The living room is fully equipped with seating for everyone around the original fireplace.
The porch can be accessed from either the living room or kitchen and has plenty of seating to gaze at the picturesque scene of Fourth Lake. Both a grill and Blackstone flat top are available for your use, along with patio furniture.
The second level has been beautifully remastered, offering 4 total bedrooms, including 2 Master Suites with private, on-suite bathrooms, and a third bathroom shared by the other 2 bedrooms. Master Suite 1 has a king bed and access to the 2nd Floor deck. Master Suite 2 has a queen bed and 2 twin beds. The remaining bedrooms offer a queen and 2 sets of bunkbeds, with each of these rooms also offering access to the 2nd floor deck. Ceiling fans have been installed in each bedroom. Each bathroom has a tiled shower with glass doors and fit with modern hardware.
Please note: We do not provide any linens: sheets, blankets, towels, etc. Guests will need to provide all linens needed for their stay.
All trash must be removed upon departure. Town-approved bags will be provided. Trash can be brought to the Old Forge transfer station.
