The apartment does not correspond to the photos, which are significantly more flattering than the actual condition of the property. The space is very small and presents several maintenance issues, including a heavily worn toilet, windows sealed with adhesive tape that allow cold air to enter, and gaps in the window frames. The main entrance door of the apartment does not close properly.The overall level of cleanliness was unsatisfactory. Basic cleaning equipment was inadequate: there was no broom, only a Swiffer without compatible pads, and the vacuum cleaner provided was completely full of dust and debris. The only wardrobe available was almost entirely occupied by stored linens and large bags, leaving little to no usable storage space.While the location is excellent, the building itself and its entrance were not clean, one of the entrance glass panels was broken, and the laundry room was not available.

We had a very different experience from most of the reviewers.The pros are location and size relative to hotel rooms in Manhattan. The cons are that it was not clean - The apartment was not vacuumed (previous tenants’ hair on the floor), the toilet bowl is stained and cups still had lipstick marks. The apartment looks more run down in real life than in the posted pictures.The shower didn’t work around 8pm on my third night. No heads up given. Was told after messaging the “property manager” that the water would come back on in 30 minutes. Because the experience was a let down, the owner agreed to shorten our stay and fully refund the last night’s stay. When i did not see any indication of a refund on VRBO, he called me to say it was definitely happen.Days pass and i decide to call VRBO and they conveyed no refund was requested. And that the owner is unreachable. I’m still waiting on confirmation of the refund being processed. Overall the management and communication process wasn’t very professional and unempathetic. I wouldn’t recommend a stay here.

Very secure and quiet first floor apartment in a great neighborhood.Convenient to subway and walkable to Central Park, Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza.Our host greeted us on arrival and made sure we did not have any questions. Would definitely stay again!

Comfortable apartment, perfect for two. Nice size kitchen, useful office area with desk. Standout feature is location. Walking distance to main museums, Rochefeller Centre, Madison Sq G, Central Park, 5 min walk to several good theatres and Restaurant Row. Hell's Kitchen reputed to be a little noisy but this apartment is down side street and is quiet at night. Was perfect for our 9 day visit.

Perfect location, lovely neighborhood, clean and well-equipped apartment. Apartment was in a safe, quiet area and was very comfortable. Perfect home base for walking to shows, Central Park, Times Square, and midtown museums. I would definitely stay here again.

This place was exactly as pictured. The owner went out of his way to help us check in early and took good care of everything from start to finish. The location is perfect, close to excellent restaurants and attractions and public transportation. We ran the air conditioning for most of our stay, which worked beautifully in cooling the place, but also kept any noise from our ears. The building feels very secure. This unit is on the first floor, with the only accessible windows being above a small courtyard belonging to a different unit. The sofa in the small living room is incredibly comfortable and would be great to sleep on. The bed was comfy and we both slept exceptionally well. Thanks for making this a great state for us!

Pros and Cons, but would stay again

The bed was extremely comfortable. Shockingly quiet given the location. They had extra bedding for the couch and my friend said it was comfortable as well. I'd still be fine staying here again.The main thing I'd flag for people planning to do work was that the internet got very bogged down sometimes. It was pretty hit or miss. Totally fine for vacation, not great for working remotely.The listing said there was shampoo and there was only conditioner, so bring your own toiletries. There's also a Duane Reade only a couple of blocks away.I'd give it a 4 or 4.5/5 for cleanliness. It was clearly well cleaned but once something is a certain age (ie wood flooring) there's only so much you can do.The things I didn't love were all typical for this type of unit in NY, so just things to know if you aren't familiar with the area (I.e. the hallway was pretty dirty/smelly; low light in the unit).

Live like a New Yorker for a few days

Rental units are hard to come by these days in NYC. This small apartment is a great choice for return visitors. If you expect hotel style features and fixtures, stick with a chain. If you know what NY apartments are like and appreciate a good value, a great location and friendly support, then consider this place. So close to Broadway, Times Square, good subway access. Helpful liaison met us and got us in late at night and recommended some restaurants based on our preferences. Shockingly quiet at night - could not believe how peaceful we slept in the middle of Hell's Kitchen. It's cozy for sure, but good for two especially since you'll be on the go a lot and not in the apartment a ton. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done in a high cost city. Would recommend for a budget conscious traveler who wants to stay more like a local. Worked great for us.

Perfect location - clean, safe, ideal for 1-2 ppl

This place is perfectly located off of 48th Ave. & 8th St. near many Broadway theatres and Times Square. Small but a great space for 1-2 people. Very secure and safe area. Host is a nice guy and gives you lots of info (wanted to know the address sooner but no biggie). Clean space, tv in living area and bedroom, small but full kitchen. I saw some reviews say that the place was missing some things — but that was NOT the case. The host had towels, sheets, K cups, TP, space heater, etc. we were well taken care of. We will stay there again.

Small (hey, this is New York!) but cozy apartment with all the amenities you might need. No laundry in the building, but there's a laundromat half a block away. Great location with shops, restaurants and all you might need within walking distance

La ubicaciĂłn ha sido perfecta y el apartamento ha sido correcto.Dos pequeñas excepciones:- La direcciĂłn mostrada en el anuncio no era exacta. El apartamento estaba en otro nĂșmero de la misma calle.- No es posible utilizar la cocina porque no hay salida de humos. Sobre la cocina hay un armario y no una chimenea.

1st time in NYC

We loved the location. We walked everywhere. Time Square is just a few blocks away. We saw Hamilton which is also very close. The host was extremely accommodating. He made our stay very convenient. He went above and beyond for us. Check out Moms Kichen on the corner. Absolutely delish. The Amish Market has everything you need.

1 bedroom in Hells Kitchen

The place was very clean and super cozy. The guy who met me at the property was great! Very helpful and super friendly. The property is great however don’t expect any extras. There is a coffee machine but no coffee. Limited towels and bedding. Overall though it met our needs just fine. Super convenient to Times Square and most things you most likely want to visit while in New York. Thank you!

Great location

We enjoyed our stay very much. The location is great- not too noisy but just a short walk to restaurants, bars, and Times Square. The apartent is small but fine for 2 people. The host was responsive and helpful. Would stay here again!

Could have been better.

The property was not as reflected on the VRBO website. For 3 people we were initially provided with 3 towels and 3 wash cloths. Our stay was for 4 nights. When I asked for replacement towels and wash cloths, I was told there wasn't enough to replace them but there was a laundromat a block away that I could take the towels to and wash them. When I asked where the dryer was (shown as available in the listing) I was told the dryer wasn't there that the listing hadn't been updated. The listing also stated linens would be provided. I had to ask on 2 separate occassions for new linens. Finally, the night before checkout, we were given 3 more towels and 3 hand towels - no wash cloths. There are no kitchen towels or wash cloths either so we were unable to do the dishes. The ceiling fan is out of balance so the entire ceiling fan and light moved the entire time it was on with a klunking sound. The hallway to the unit appeared to have not been cleaned up for a period of time. There were boxes and junk stacked up. This VRBO is a convenient location but I really wouldn't stay here again.
