Great But Pool Was Inaccessible

The location and condo were excellent. The only issue is we booked this place specifically because it had a pool and the pool was off limits for the entire week, which we did not learn until the day we checked in. They gave us a 15% refund and we were allowed to use a pool at a neighboring property, but we would have booked a different place if we had known this when we were booking. Otherwise, great stay. Assuming the pool is accessible in future we would stay here again.

Regular Visitor to Isle of Palms

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was sufficient but nothing special. We usually stayed in the Sea Cabins and didn’t know what to expect at Oceanview. The big drawback is the walk to the beach with everything you need.

We asked for one more parking pass for our condo. She stated in a very unpleasant tone, There was not enough parking spaces for us to have two passes. The parking lot was mostly empty. We have always received 2 passes for the last 12 years. I was disappointed with the staff member and parking.

We enjoyed being so close to the beach, the heart of IOP and having a pool. Simple and nice place for a beach weekend for our group of 3.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were happy; we rent from Island Realty maybe once a year for the last 15 years. Properties are always as described and photos are accurate. This unit was inexpensive, so we knew it would be a bit dated. Beds were comfortable; AC was good; location fabulous. It was clean and welcoming, as I always experience with Island Realty. My only suggestion for the company would be to provide more towels & wash cloths, especially in a unit without a washer & dryer.

Not great

Arrived late to find the master bed linens to have a very strong vomit/mildew odor. We had spare sheets and a throw blanket in the closet and replaced the bedding that night. Called housekeeping in the morning and was told they would be out the following day to change the bedding. We stayed 4 nights and no one showed up. Advertised as a beach condo with a pool, but no beach or pool towels provided. No spare trash bags or basic amenities provided. Main TV and master bedroom TVs both are damaged and viewing is poor. Internet is too slow to function properly, especially if you're trying to work remotely. Kitchen pans are in very poor condition - good luck trying to cook anything. The condo needs updates very badly, and communication is lacking

We didn't spend much time in the room since we were there for a baseball tournament but we loved the easy walk to the pools, beach and Pier. We felt the room could have been a little more updated but since we spent most of our time outside, it really wasn't that big of a deal.

Outdated

Great location! Close to shopping, restaurants and the beach. However, I would not book this rental again. I had three other family members staying in various units on the property that were much nicer for the same price. Our unit was dirty, outdated, outlet plugs loose making it impossible to charge phones and curl hair without holding the plug in place in multiple areas of the unit; we had to use the outlet by the kitchen sink to get ready. The unit also smelled like cigarette smoke mixed with musty air. The management property was helpful and offered us a different unit or a full refund but the other unit was just as bad and we could not find a new place last minute so we decided to stay. The management company did bring an air purifying unit which helped.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It had a musty mildew smell throughout upon arrival. It definitely Needs a good DEEP cleaning, especially the kitchen floors. My husband spilled something when we got there and cleaned it up and the rag was filthy from the floor in the kitchen. The area where the trash can goes was soiled as well. I scrubbed the walls after I saw a bunch of gnats. The a/c furnace unit needs cleaned as well. I replaced the filter myself because it was full of dust & debris and left the old one there by the door. The inside of the door to the unit was filthy as well. I tried to vacuum and that didn't work so I scrubbed it myself. I did take photos before I cleaned it. But the unit itself has built-up debris of dust too. Ceiling fans need cleaned as well. The ceiling in the master has dust above the fan which is above the bed. Some items were not refilled before we arrived. Like the liquid soap container in the master bathroom. The sponges/Rag to clean dishes were in horrible shape and smelled so we used our own. It would be nice to have at least 1 extra towel in the kitchen for drying dishes. We only had one and the dishes we did by hand we layed on that towel to dry. More Tupperware/storage containers would be nice too. Only 2 had lids so we used our own tinfoil to cover. There was a dirty pie plate in the bottom drawer of the stove so I ran it through the dishwasher. It had a spoonful of built up grease/lard. The sliding door does not lock so we used the provided stick for security. Overall we loved the location, the amenities of furniture, & the kitchen stuff provided.The linens provided were excellent as well. Loved having 2 full bathrooms. Everything else was great! We'll stay again because the price was reasonable and the location was phenomenal. We also would love to give this company a 2nd chance. Inspection after a cleaning or hiring another company that cleans properly would solve the problem. The checkout process was simple and the rules posted on the frig were h

Good stay

Nice location, decent place. The only complaint I would say it they had very little cookware. No actual chef knives, cutting boards, or decent cooking utensils to make meals yourself there. Otherwise, great place to stay with a great location.

Nice location, checkin was easy. The second bedroom needs updated mattress and tv replaced. Otherwise the condo is well stocked and comfortable for a family of 5.

Folly Beach

Close to beach, condo had zero amenities like basic spices, tin foil, moisturizer. TV had a black mark in screen. Beds way too soft. Overall a bit dated.
