Took my first solo trip with just my dog and I to do some hiking/exploring. This was the perfect little getaway spot for us. It was very cozy and we loved exploring the property! We even hit up strouds run park and the beach which was only a 7 minute drive from the property! We definitely will be visiting again soon
Absolutely lovely time we had a lot of fun toilet was a little confusing cuz we've never used those and the water to get it hot was a little confusing but he has descriptions of how everything works we're just not that bright with it hahaha it was just a lovely time.
Beautiful property, great host with very good communication, very cozy and a great place for a peaceful getaway. We got to explore the cave and pond a little bit but didnât get to see the trails. I canât wait to be back and check them out! Highly recommend!
Beautiful property and location. Courteous and helpful host. Simple and thoughtful touches such as games, coffee, equipped kitchen. Refreshing time spent! Thanks so much!
The check in was super easy! We got the code 5 hours before we got there. The place was very cozy. There was a lot of room for the 2 of us!The place was clean.
We were attending a bluegrass festival nearby and the cottage served our needs perfectly. The location was near Athens, yet very remote and only 15 minutes from Poston Lake music venue.
Unique, beautiful location on 133 acres , cave, pond, hiking trails, field of wildflowers with butterflies. Cottage powered by solar with compost toilet. Host very helpful. Chickens wandering property, some of their eggs in refrigerator.
We stayed here while visiting our daughter at OU and were so pleased with the setting and the space. Weâd definitely stay again! My only reason for 4 stars on check in was because of a mixup with another guest on the property, but we worked it out and all ended up great.
We adored the rolling hills and vast landscapes of SE Ohio, all the more thanks to the VRBO we stayed in. Chad was an excellent host, and any questions we had were answered promptly. We didn't get a chance to explore the grounds surrounding our cabin due to time but if we stay again we will! PLUS the chickens that live on the land are so cute :)
The cabin was very cute and has a beautiful setting. Close to Athens but far enough away to get away from it all. We especially loved the very friendly free range chickens.
Everything we needed for a few quiet days of rest and relaxation, including doing some baking and cooking. Our host was available and responsive when we had questions. It was perfect for some much needed quiet time. Highly recommend this property and host. Will definitely stay again!
The stay was everything we needed and more! The host accommodated our dog which I am very grateful for. The compost toilet was really neat! The included games, streaming services, and Xbox were a nice surprise for our daughter! Will definitely be staying again on our next trip to Athens!
My girlfriend and I could not have had a better time. The cabin was extremly nice as well as clean, I absolutely loved the design of the bathroom, and we couldn't stop laughing at the free range chickens running around together. The host was incredibly respectful and gave us tons of privacy. I honestly couldn't have loved this trip more especially for the price. 5 stars I hope to stay here again!!!
The room was not very clean in that there were cobwebs over the bed. We slept on top of the blankets because we couldnât bring ourselves to turn down the bed. Had the property not been so far off a main road after dark we would have left after arriving. We were unable to make it our first night and messaged the host. We checked out before we ever even hear back so communication isnât great. Composting toilet is a no for us. Lots of directions to be able to pee and shower and wash hands. Now, with all that said, if you like the back woods and rustic luxury, this might be the place for you.
It's was dirty. First thing we did was pull down the sheets & they had dog hair all over them. We didn't bring any pets. The toilet was like a porta potty. It was full & nasty. Overall it wasn't what we had expected.
This place has lots of amazing history, Native Americans stay close by, if not here on the land. There are rock formations, caves, creeks and tons of wildlife here.
