Lovely place. The space was well thought out and comfy. The sauna was awesome. You can see the river out the back sauna window. Great views from inside the house too. Close to Sandstone Falls, Grandview falls, and many other trails. Go see it!

Mountain River Retreat

A lovely property with an incredible view of the river, an above average kitchen, and a wonderful (easy to operate) sauna.

Clean and Comfy with a Sauna!!!

Clean and comfy and in a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed the sauna that looks out over the river, mountains, and passing trains. Also, the kitchen and dining area had large windows that were perfect for looking at the mountains while we had our morning coffee. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Beautiful views, and great location. The home was immaculate, and every piece of linen smelled like it had just been washed. I was very impressed, and I'm not sure I've stayed in such a well maintained property before. I also really appreciated the clear communication from the host and simple check out instructions. Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your property.

Meet in the Middle

I traveled from NC with a few teenage boys to meet up with an older son who lives in Pittsburgh for a weekend of scenic hiking. Riverview Retreat provided a comfortable home base with great kitchen so we didn’t have to eat out. Most importantly, the teenage boys never complained about the internet signal strength. Communication with owners was great before and during our stay. Will repeat.

Fall Color

Came with friends to see the New River Gorge National Park and fall colors. Although the leaves were not at their peek, the area was beautiful. The house had a fantastic view of the river and mountains. We ere pleasantly surprised to see and hear a train running beside the river. Host answered all our questions and provided everything we needed. Brenda

Clean and newly remodeled. Loved the deck overlooking the river. Enjoyed watching the deer on the little island. Very peaceful. Lots of birds singing. Cool to see the trains pass by. Close To the town Hinton and the Sandstone Fall Nature center. Visited Sandstone Falls , Pipestem and Bluestone lake while staying at this property. Kitchen has everything you need . Has washer and dryer. Had elderly person with us who found it challenging climbing the hill to get to the house. If in the area again I would stay there again!

Beautiful location and really helpful amenities inside the property! It's very close to the Sandstone Visitor center and Sandstone Falls is a must see! We ate out on the deck every evening and enjoyed the sauna. The only downsides were the spiral staircase which is a bit narrow and challenging for the adults with knee problems, and the lack of window treatments in the bedrooms/master bath was a bit disconcerting. Otherwise a really lovely visit and my kids asked to go back again next year.
