Escapade Cottage Dunlop Cozy

Niché dans un joli quartier familial sur North Kahshe Lake Road, Kilworthy, en Ontario, est un véritable chalet. Ce chalet confortable peut accueillir 8 personnes avec un lit double dans la pièce principale, un ensemble de lits superposés dans chacune des chambres d'hôtes et un canapé-lit. Il est situé à quelques pas de l'amarrage local pour toute personne intéressée par le canotage ou la pêche. La location de bateaux est également disponible au port de plaisance de Denne. Le lac Kahshe offre une excellente pêche à l'achigan, au brochet, au pickeral et à la perche. Admirez toute l'atmosphère et la vue sur le lac tout en étant assis sur le pont ouvert. De plus, à quelques minutes à pied du chalet, vous trouverez la plus belle petite plage familiale que vous ayez jamais fréquentée. Cette plage est idéale pour se détendre et profiter de toute la famille. Avec la location de chalet, nous avons un canot et un pédalo de quatre places pour votre plaisir. Il y a aussi un foyer pour les chaudes nuits autour du feu, en train de griller des guimauves et de raconter des histoires. Certaines fois par an, il y a aussi un tournoi de pêche pour les enfants, un spectacle local, un spectacle d'artisanat et une régate de plage pour toute la famille. Pour les groupes de plus de huit, contactez-nous pour les arrangements. Le chalet d'à côté Poppa Toms Cabin est également une location. Si disponible, il peut être loué en conjonction avec Dunlop Cosy Cottage pour les grandes réunions de famille. Pendant les mois de juillet et août cette location est réservée pour la réservation hebdomadaire seulement. Les week-ends sont organisés plus près des dates demandées. Un dépôt de garantie remboursable de 200 $ est requis par le propriétaire, séparé des frais de location et un contrat signé fourni lors de la réservation

What a wonderful stay! We enjoyed our two-day Thanksgiving weekend at the cottage. Shelly and Scott were highly responsive and provided us with all the arrival details we needed. The cottage was clean and roomy. A definite highlight was taking the canoe out for a relaxing paddle on the lake, which is located right next to the property.

We had such a great time at Dunlop Cozy Cottage, it was the perfect spot for a relaxed family vacation. The kids loved the beach just steps away, and we spent our evenings around the firepit making s’mores. Great family vacation spot

Our second year at this cottage and it was just as good as last year- great spot to relax with beach that is great for the grandkids and the big kids.

This is a great spot for families with young kids. Really cute, cozy cottage. Spent the days at the beach which is not even a minute walk down the road. The beach is perfect for young kids with lots of communal toys for use by the community and a nice shallow lake with sand bottom. Spent our nights curled up on the cozy couch together having family movie nights with just about every movie or show you could think of available. Check in/out was super easy. Shelly and Scott are lovely and very responsive. Thanks for a great family getaway!

It was an okay stay!Some pros: - Fantastic beach nearby. Really great for kids. It has a permanent toy box of genuinely good beach toys and people use it and return it. It’s really lovey. - Great yard space. Lots of lawn to stretch your legs and run your 3 year old out - Lovely view of the lake from back deckSome cons:- High traffic area between the marina and road- Noise transfer within the cottage - Felt “tight” - always kind of stepping over and around each other to get in and out

Excellent spot for our family vacation!

This cottage met with all of our expectations- roomy and clean with everything we needed. Large open property with huge firepit, nice beach that was great for our grandkids 6yr and 1yr old. Great lake for kayak and paddleboard. Booked to return next year!

The perfect summer cottage

This is our go-to summer getaway. We've been coming here since 2020, and we wouldn't change a thing. Great and safe beach with lots of space, huge lawn for outdoor activities, and well-equipped cottage. The hosts are really helpful as well.

Perfect getaway

We chose this property because it offered a gap between occupants to address COVID-19 concerns, which I found very reassuring. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable and pleasant stay, a big backyard, and a great deck. The beach is perfect for children.

3rd year in a row!

This is our 3rd summer in a row here! We absolutely love everything about this cottage! It’s a perfect spot for a family with lots of place to play on the yard and a short walk to the beautiful beach and lake. We love that we can let the kids run around without fear of them going in the water but it takes less than a minute to go for a swim. The cottage is clean and contains everything a family needs for a great vacation. The community is wonderful and everyone is so friendly. We can’t recommend this spot enough

Year 4 a Success!

We have just returned from our 4th stay at The Dunlop cottage. We had yet another wonderful vacation with our dog, 7 year old and 4 year old. Our 7 year old enjoyed fishing off the dock every morning and evening and both kids swam everyday at the beach. The water is perfect for our kids-shallow enough to play and swim in - but also perfect for parents too! The owners were easily reached and responded to any queries promptly. Location is perfect- super close to Gravenhurst to grab groceries, enjoy parks or trails or go out for dinner. Location is also perfect for a day trip to Santa’s Village. We would not hesitate to book another vacation here!

The perfect home-base.

This quaint little cottage was the perfect home-base for us while visiting a music festival in Gravenhurst. It takes less than 10 minutes to get downtown. While not directly on the water, it is a stone's throw from a boat-launch and a 30 second walk from a public beach. You can enjoy your coffee in the morning on the back deck (or beach) and get a nice view of the lake. A definite reco, and the price was right. The owners were always available if needed and response times were quick during the process. Thanks again Dunlops!

Red Cottage on Khashe Lake

It was a great week. Super location right next to the boat launch area so we didn't have to carry the canoe far. Loved the beautiful lake (including floating dock to lie out on) and canoeing around the islands - so many of them! (Canoe was blue - had to check that it was theirs since the picture online shows a red one). We also really liked using their expansive front yard for lawn games like ladder ball and kubb. Cottage had all the supplies we needed including fresh water dispenser (only $2.99 to refill at Sobey's in town). Queen in master bedroom could use a bit firmer mattress. Deck furniture was beautiful and the furniture in the living room was very comfortable but starting to show some wear. Really appreciated the ceiling fans in every room. Air conditioners kept the cottage at a comfortable temperature. We had our shi-poo with us and it was great for her to have lots of space to roam on the property. We did have to be careful on two of our walks, though. Larger dogs that weren't on leashes came out barking (apparently visiting). Upon arrival, we had difficulty locating where the key was kept - directions could have been a bit more accurate. Friendly owners and really enjoyed our stay overall!

Perfect getaway!

Able to ask questions prior to arriving- helpful and prompt responses. Easy to find and easily accessible. The highlights were the use of the canoes, being close to the water for a swim and the nearby dark sky reserve (also a great hike). The cottage is super cute and clearly well loved, adorned with horshoe awards, adding character to the place. Fire pit and horseshoe pit we could not use, due to the rain, but great features to have! There is a beach are just a few houses down. The owners were easily accessible by phone when we needed and lovely to communicate with. Definitely recommend the place. If you have a bad back, I recommend bringing a foam mattress to put on top of of the beds. Will definitely be booking again when we can! It was just what me and the family needed! Thank you.

Great place for a small family getaway! 7.5/10

The entire booking process was very easy, the property owners were fast and helpful with all my questions. The cottage was supplied with everything you need (note that pillows and linens are not provided) bring ur own and its no issue at all! The only reason I can’t give this place a 10/10 is because of the tap water. It was literally brown water, obviously we know not to drink it but simply washing our hands and face in that water very uncomfortable. Other then that everything else was just amazing! Would definitely come back again !

Red Cottage

Nice setting but wet in the rains. Missed having some heat on colder days. A smoke alarm was missing. Some dishes had been put away dirty. The owners were very good to work with, we did enjoy our stay.

Simple, comfortable and fun

Hey its a no frills cottage. Was more than big enough for a 2 yr old, a 4 month old, my wife and I and my mother in law. Good fire pit, comfy chairs and plenty of firewood. Was really convenient to have the marina so close but with that came a LOT of foot and vehicle traffic.. I live in a busy downtown street and my street may see less traffic that that road to the marina did. The beach is really close and my 2 year old had a blast. Great for easy swimming and was never very busy.. We'd keep this on our list of potential for future rentals.. but if you are looking for a quiet private woodsy setting .. this isn't quite that.

Areas of improvement

The cabin is not well kept. It wasn’t clean, didn’t smell nice and the furniture and house is run down. There’s not a lot to do in the neighborhood and the kitchen is too small for a family cooking together. Communication with the owner and check-in was easy.

I truly apologize that you did not enjoy your stay. I wish you would have brought your concerns to our attention so we could have had the opportunity to address them with you directly. Coming off covid restrictions you are correct there is little to do in the area. Perhaps you would be more suited to an "in town" vacation with stores and night life after all restrictions have been lifted. We work very hard to maintain our little cottage but it is not for everyone Wish you the best with your future vacation plans
