Located in Gurley, Alabama, this metal building is a brilliant choice for guests seeking a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. With 1 cozy bedroom featuring a queen bed, a well-equipped bathroom with a walk-in shower, some basic amenities which includes toilet paper, towels, washcloths, and a hair dryer. It features the convenient amenities like heating, AC, (brand new mini splits installed in April 2025) and free WiFi (Due to location, it can be spotty at times). Kitchen with basic amenities, including a Keurig and some k-cups. Also we provide a stackable washer and dryer for guest use with some pods provided. This fantastic property has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Our place will help you feel at home while you're traveling. You may see turkey, deer, and an occasional owl. They do not bother guests. 1 1/2 miles from a small lake perfect for a picnic, Eagle watching, or fishing (poles and tackle provided, license required). 30 minutes from downtown Huntsville or the Space and Rocket Center and less than an hour from Guntersville Lake. During the months of September thru January there are a couple trail cameras on the back half of the woods/property capturing wildlife. They do not face the hut. Security cameras at the driveway entrance and over the driveway. Absolutely no alcohol or drugs are allowed on the premises.

Perfect spot for my wife and I to stay while visiting some family! Quiet, clean, spacious! More amenities than you’ll even need and the view from the cabin was really nice. Highly recommend when you’re in the area and hope it’s available the next time we come down!

The whole setup; including the extras i.e. welcome bag, the keurig asst'ed pods, the little snacks and the special Christmas decoration touch as well as the very clean and most quiet/accommodations. A definite book again when visiting the grandsons.

The Tater Tot (Quonset) Hut was perfect for our short getaway! The location is absolutely beautiful and ideal for sightseeing. The hosts have thought of so many little things to add to your stay. We appreciated the clear communication and quick responses.

Great little Quonset hut out in the country with beautiful views and it's only take about 7 miles through some beautiful country roads to get to a Walmart, Culvers, etc. Very comfortable place to stay with plenty of amenities; just bring your bag (and food) because they have supplied you with everything you could need during your stay. The furniture especially the bed was very comfortable. It was very peaceful and sitting out on the patio in comfortable rockers was nice and relaxing just enjoying nature and watching the wildlife. We will definitely stay again if in the area.

This lovely get away is tucked into the beautiful countryside of Alabama. Crystal and Matt provided a clean and cozy little abode to stay while visiting family! Aside from providing the clean and cozy cottage, they filled it with things to meet every guests needs. Check out was extremely easy, too.

Nice, cozy getaway.

This place is perfect for any folks wanting to get a relaxing stay but still have a closeness to the city. I was close to enough to visit the Space Center, Monte Sano(great place to hike and play disc golf), check out the comic book stores, and have a variety of restaurants. Next visit, I will eat at some of the more local establishments near Gurley.

Peaceful Stay in the Mountains of North Alabama

The Quonset hut was cozy, clean, and accommodating. Our hosts were friendly and communicative and provided great directions to the place as well as instructions for getting into the hut. The forest behind the hut was just lovely, as well as the surrounding views. It was a quiet and calm place. Madison County Lake was just a few minutes drive from the hut; we didn't fish or boat, but we enjoyed walking on the grounds, admiring the plants as well as the birds, including geese and ducks. It is a short drive to Huntsville, which is where we were operating during the days. All in all, it was a great experience and our hosts were fantastic.

Cozy getaway in the mountains

This house is out a bit, which is exactly what we like. Sit on the patio and you get a fantastic view of the mountains. Go for a walk and put your legs to the test. The hosts left a great welcome gift, and were wonderful to talk to. Highly recommend staying here...

Quonset Magic

This property is a hidden gem. The location is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by views of the mountains, and the owners are some of the kindest people I have met. They stocked us up with snacks, local goodies from the area, and maintain a level of top notch quality rarely seen these days.Whether we are coming back for a short visit or staying a while, Ill be checking to see if this is available from now on.

Furnishings are excellent. internet was down the weekend I stayed there. The repair man pulled up as I was leaving. The AC in the bedroom was very loud, but I had earplugs so it was ok. Well appointed kitchen, very clean. Would stay there again.

Wonderful mountain retreat

The hut was very comfy and clean, and Crystal was very responsive to any communication. Directions to home and to get in were very clear, as well as house rules, which are relaxed. Crystal even provided some snacks, drinks, and other items that were so thoughtful. The view from the hut is amazing and the location is quiet, peaceful and relaxing.We would definitely stay again.

Breathtaking Views- peaceful & comfort

Crystal & Matt are great hosts, they made sure our every need was met & that we were comfortable doing our stay and they also made us feel welcome. We highly recommend staying at Crystal & Matt’s Quonset Hut is truly a home away from home! Thanks again Crystal & Matt !
