Welcome to Bear Tracks Cottage! This beautiful cabin is tucked away, giving guests a private retreat in Nelson County, but still with easy accessibility to award wining wineries, breweries, and distilleries along the 151 trail. This cabin features 3 floors, plus ample outdoor space featuring a fire pit, large deck with grill, and hot tub. Come explore the Blue Ridge Mountains in this newly restored cabin.

FIRST FLOOR:

Living - sofa, accent chairs, smart TV

Kitchen - fully stocked kitchen with fridge, oven, microwave, toaster, drip coffee pot

Bedroom 1 - king bed, dresser, nightstand with lamp, smart TV, closet

Bathroom 1 - double vanity, soaker tub, toilet, all linens provided


LOFT:

Bedroom 2 - loft bedroom with two twin bedrooms, nightstand, small writing deck


BASEMENT:

Bedroom 3 - queen bed, nightstand, loveseat, closet

Game room - poker table with 6 chairs, fridge, barware, futon couch, smart TV

Bathroom 2 - single vanity, walk-in shower, toilet, all linens provided


OUTDOOR:

Hot Tub - NEW hot tub located right off of the basement level, towels provided

Deck - propane grill (propane not provided), 4-person outdoor dining set, chairs and side table

Fire Pit - Solo stove fire pit with Adirondack chairs (firewood not provided)

Newly paved driveway for easier arrival!

Quiet Getaway

We were looking for a quiet getaway. This cabin was awesome. It had everything we needed to crash and burn for a few days. We will definitely make a return visit.

Wonderful stay!

The cabin was tucked away in the woods, and was the perfect stay for my husband and our three daughters! It was clean, had everything we needed, and a lot of thought was clearly put into the decor to make it “homey” and cozy! Would 100% recommend. We plan to stay again in the future! Thank you so much for having us.

It was exactly as advertised. A quiet cabin in the woods. We were out every day, so we didn’t cook at all. (Except coffee in the morning, sometimes watching deer graze across the lawn) after running around all day. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening. We would definitely stay there again!

Mountain retreat

Absolutely LOVED everything about our stay. The house is beautiful. Everything was well stocked. The towels feel amazing and there were plenty available. Check-in and out was seamless. The location was perfect - far enough away to be secluded and private but still close to things we wanted to do. We really enjoyed the hot tub at night and enjoying the view from the porch in the mornings. We will definitely be booking again soon!

Glad we made tracks to the Bear Tracks Cottage!

A beautifully crafted log home with modern amenities. The location wxcellent, private yet close to breweries, Wintergreen and wineries. The decor was wonderful. Very unique with natural appeal. Beds were comfortable. All linens fresh and comfortable. The hot tub was relaxing after long days of hiking. The winds were too high to have an outdoor fire, so we had one in the fireplace whuch was great. We would stay again! We appreciated the easy check in and out.

New Years Eve Get away

Great location to all the breweries on the 151 trail. Beautiful views from decks and very clean and well kept home. The WiFi worked awesome for all the apps on the TVs, phones and laptops. We had 3 adult couples with plenty of room. However, the one single bed in the loft could use some attention. Overall very pleased and would stay here again for sure

Ski getaway

We visited the cabin for two nights while we went skiing at Wingergreen. The space was perfect for our crew. We spent time in the hot tub relaxing and warming up by the fire. The back deck and living room are perfectly situated for a mountain morning sunrise.The house was very clean and there were ample towels and linens, which helped for a comfortable experience. We will be back!

Great cabin

This place was very clean and new inside. Much bigger then I expected. Just make sure you have all the codes and passwords before getting there. Pretty much no internet via cell signal at cabin.

Love the location, minutes from town but feels private in a natural setting. The cabin is cute and has a wood burning fireplace and a hot tub. Kitchen stocked with all the basics. Beds are comfortable. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was that there aren’t blinds/curtains on all the windows. I listen to way too many true crime podcasts to be comfortable with that, but it did seem that be the norm in the area, most houses were the same. This would NOT stop me from going back. Overall, I loved it!

Love this cabin!

Love the cabin, the location, the property managers, everything! The wood burning fireplace is so cool. We would get up in the morning and start a fire and the coffee pot, then sit by the fire to relax as we were waking up. There was snow on the ground when we got there, but the driveway was plowed, salted, and snow/ice free. The beds were comfortable, towels were good, kitchen was stocked. Washer and dryer ran great. The only thing I didn’t love was that there aren’t curtains or blinds to cover all of the windows. We hung sheets up on the curtain rods in the master to make sure everything was covered and tried not to think about the rest. I did see that this is quite normal for the area and that lots of homes were the same. I, however, spend way too much time listening to podcasts and watching true crime shows to be comfortable with this way of living. That would NOT stop me from going back though. We were there during a crazy wind storm and lost power and water to the cabin and the property managers were quick to get us moved to another rental that had power close by. The other place was very nice, but made me miss the cabin that much more. Overall, great property and great people to work with!
