The kitchen was fully equipped, except that it would be nice to add a disposal to the sink. We enjoyed using the wood stove as the main heat source for the house. Since it rained a lot when we were there, it was nice that most of the walk from our cars to the house was covered.

We had a great stay with friends at this house. It is spacious, very cozy, and spotlessly clean. Check-in was very simple, and communication with the host was fast and easy. Just a small note: the house does not provide shampoo, conditioner, or shower gel, so make sure to bring your own.

The McCloud property has a well designed interior - wall colors, choice of art, clever use of mirrors and creative use of space. It is adequate for a large party of 9 adults. It is surprisingly close to McCloud Falls and one of the Mt. Shasta ranger stations. It is a short drive to major pathways to places like Mt. Shasta, Castle Crags, Castle Lake, Hedge Creek Falls, Dunsmuir, Peace Garden. Our host is very responsive and accommodated us with our requests. He called his team in to assist resolve issues quickly. We didn’t realize there is no A/C in the house except for one room upstairs. However, the host provided adequate instructions on how to cool the place down during the daytime. We really liked the feel of the forest and the nice view of Mt. Shasta from the house, as well as the clean, potable tap water. Kitchen is well stacked with pots, pans, plates, etc. Blender works but not for power blending. We like that there’s modern appliances and conveniences. Few board games, electronic games and videos. Exterior looks pretty but watch out for the first step leading up to the front door — it’s a little higher than the rest. The place is a short drive to the gas station and the grocery store/market. We love the feel of the forest surrounding us. Except for the mice that showed up at night, everything else went well. Directions, instructions to the house and before we depart were clearly provided.

If you are looking for a very comfortable and spacious home, this is the place!!It was very clean, the kitchen is large with lots of counter space. The beds were comfortable. John communicated quickly with us when we had a question. Thank you John for providing and sharing such a wonderful home.

Loved it!

Absolutely loved our stay at this cozy, comfy cabin! It had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The place was spotless, the beds were super comfortable, and the communication with the host was excellent. The location was perfect near the ski park. The check-in process was a breeze, and the host was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place for anyone. I can’t wait to come back next year!

Owner And property are great, VRBO needs work

I had great communication with owner, house is awsopme and great location. VRBO customer service is clunky, confused, and not well informed about the property-NOT OWNERS FAULT. I would lovce to stay there again.

Wonderful property in McCloud

We were in town for a wedding with all of our adult children. The property was lovely and had everything we needed. The covered outdoor patio was such a fun gathering place. We were able to walk to and from the wedding venue on Main St and enjoy the beautiful view of Mt. Shasta. The only thing that would have made our stay better would have been a queen bed in each bedroom instead of two queen beds in the upstairs bedroom. We hope to stay again someday.

They Thought of Everything

Great vacation rental in McCloud. We travel to McCloud annually and have stayed at many homes in this delightful little town and this house has it all. The owner thought of everything and the house is very comfortable, has space for watching TV, relaxing, cooking, playing games, etc. The backyard has space for enjoying an outdoor meal and is well secured for a pet. We have already booked our visit for 2024.

Spacious

We got the front door of the house stuck and the neighbor had to come to open the back door. An unpleasant surprise was that two of the bathrooms were dirty, really gross. Under the sink there was a dead mouse in a trap, another unpleasant detail. The bathroom downstairs that 3 people shared, have an open bathtub with a manual shower and nowhere to hold on, all the time the bathroom soaked because it also has no shower curtain. The good things, the house is spacious and well equipped, perfect for a group of 10 people

Hot week in McCloud

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this house was, (since you never really know from the photos online.) It was over 100 degrees everyday, but the downstairs stayed cool with everything closed up. It was perfect for the six of us, and the kids enjoyed the park nearby. We’ll done John!

We enjoyed the MCcloud house. It was perfect for a family. The house was very clean and had a cabin Atmosphere to it. Very quaint. The only problem was parking. We did park in the street but weren’t comfortable. I would rent again if in the area.
