This was the perfect place to stay while attending a wedding at the venue next door! The space was clean, spacious, and pet-friendly, making it comfortable for both us and our furry companions. The location was incredibly convenient, and everything made for an easy, relaxing, and stress-free stay. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for the Bookmarks festival and was a reasonable walk. There was a wedding at the venue next door on Saturday night but the music stopped by 10:30 and did not disturb our sleep. Be sure to park in the space next to the house not the parking lot for the wedding venue. We will definitely try to reserve here again for future book festivals.

Another great stay! We love this place! Linens are soft and bed is comfy. The kitchen has everything you may need. It's walking distance to downtown restaurants, shopping and entertainment. We enjoyed the cooler evenings on the patio.

Everything was great except for being beside an event venue. Saturday night there was an event & people parked in the parking area for the carriage house. Fortunately we had planned on walking to dinner that night & not driving. Good thing, though the music did stop at a reasonable hour.

Great historic property in the heart of Winston Salem! Walkable to restaurants, central location. Only note is that the road noise on the expressway is a bit loud, so if you are a light sleeper, might suggest noise canceling earbuds/white noise at night.

The locations was perfect for us. Our youngest daughter lives downtown so we were very close. Our older daughter came along and brought her dog and the house was set up great for furry friends, too. The bedrooms were spacious and the kitchen was well appointed. It was very cold while we were there, so we did not use the outdoor space but it was cute. There was plenty of parking, which is at a premium anywhere near downtown. We would stay again!

The Perfect Downtown Getaway

The carriage house is an easy walk to restaurants, shopping, Old Salem and more! Everything you need is provided. Soft linens, a fully equipped kitchen, Roku streaming, and plenty of space for a family. We hope to return!

Really enjoyed our stay!

Our family stayed here for our son's college graduation. We were pleased with the three comfy bedrooms, the kitchen, the big dining room, and the outside table with umbrella. It is very convenient to Old Salem and the downtown, although the front bedroom is a little noisy as the freeway onramp is right outside, but it didn't really bother us at all. Host was kind and accommodating. We appreciated the ample parking. Overall a comfortable place to stay!

The property owner put us out in the middle of the night. My group was very respectful and careful in and around the property. I explained we had a convention at the Benton Center and we would have a few members from our group over to catch up and move on. The property owner deemed it as a party and cancelled the contract. We were profiled because of the gathering. There was no music or loud people. Most of us were in suits or evening gowns. We were judged on our appearance and not our conduct. We have been using properties for the last ten years and never been disrespected in such a manner. It’s a nice facility, perfect for our needs; but the property owner only wants 6 people in the property at all times. His actions ruined our weekend. We were not able to get any rooms or another property in the vicinity. He was not concerned about us having to sleep in our cars in the parking decks or most members had to travel home that night because of his judgement. Fortunately everyone made it home safe without any incidents. That 6 people rule was used to make us leave the property. Only 4 people were staying at the property. I begged and pleaded by email not to cancel the contract, and we would comply with the 6 people rule. He wouldn’t hear of it and threatened to call the police. All else I will say, the property owner was informed prior that we would have members coming through for short periods. He judged our group and made his decision.

Carriage house in the heart of Downtown Winston-Salem

This updated carriage house is perfect for a family retreat. It is a home away from home with comfortable beds, soft linens, and updated bath and a fully equipped kitchen. We loved having downtown Winston-Salem at our doorstep. Everything is within walking distance. Our pup lives it to!
