We will be sure to share your kind words with them—they will be delighted to hear them. We’re sorry that some aspects of the villa did not meet your expectations. As shown in the many photos, Casa Kalista is a tropical, open-air villa built into the hillside of Mismaloya, and its design is intentionally very connected to the surrounding jungle. As a result, there are stairs throughout the property, some rooms have an open-air/treehouse-style design, and it is possible to encounter the occasional tropical insect or visit from the local wildlife that live in the surrounding jungle. We understand that this style of property is not ideal for every guest, and we are continuing to look at ways to make these features clearer in the listing so guests can determine whether Casa Kalista is the right fit for them. We also appreciate your comments regarding the furnishings, chandelier, and storage space. We take the comfort of our guests seriously and will review these items with our house manager. We do want to clarify one point regarding the location. The Mismaloya beach area is nearby, but the route from the villa involves a cobblestone road, and we agree that it is not appropriate to describe the beach as an easy walk or as stroller-accessible. It is noted that the beach is a 15-minute walk from the villa. We will make the transportation and accessibility information in our listing more explicit. We’re pleased that, despite these concerns, your family enjoyed the villa, the views, and the exceptional service from Alan and Mirabel.
