Visiting NW Bakersfield? We invite you to stay at Terracotta House, a newly built and fully furnished two-story, spacious home, beautifully designed and decorated to make your stay nothing short of pleasant.

This beautiful home includes a large dining room; full kitchen; comfy living room; cozy backyard with lounge chairs and string lights; bathrooms with shampoo, conditioner, body gel, and soap; a beautiful lounge room; and four charming bedrooms, each with its own closet space. For the safety of our guests and the property, exterior security cameras are installed around the home. These cameras are positioned only to monitor entry points and the perimeter of the property.

We stayed at the Terra Cotta house over spring break while visiting family. The house was immaculate, tastefully decorated, and we had more than enough room. Beds were very comfy and the bathroom towels were luxurious. (Yes, I have a thing about towels lol) The kitchen was well equipped for our needs and had a Keurig machine that could do both iced and hot coffee. (A bonus for my older son who loves iced coffee) We had a service animal with us and the owner was accommodating to our needs. We didn’t get to enjoy much of the backyard since we were out and about most of the time, but it was beautiful. The neighborhood is very quiet and close to things like Starbucks, groceries, etc. Highly recommend for families who love having a kitchen and plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable. Thank you for letting us use the home!

The house is nice. Plenty of room inside. Don’t plan on more than 1 full size vehicle, or multiple cars, as the driveway is small & no garage access. Street parking was very limited. The kitchen, although it says stocked, lacked many things, making it a difficult to cook for 4 people. I couldn’t imagine if we had enough people for every room. The bedrooms & bathrooms were clean, comfortable and nice, but a heads up about the lack of towels would have been nice, we would have brought some of our own. We appreciated the cleanliness of the home. It was in a quiet neighborhood as well.

The house is beautiful and all ammenties were great . If you have big vehicles and not tiny cars -‘parking is an issue. We were concerned about parking on street and on side street - but had problems with our vehicles there . A disappointment to us is no TVs in bedrooms . Hai t all adults gather together - tv would have been nice for everyone’s taste . Backyard is an oasis ! The neighborhood was quiet and th house Inviting and new . We had no problems with communication at all with questions or comments to the host . Previous review I seen said no towels - but for all adults we had plenty with a cupboard full if needed! Did get checkout instructions after we had already checked out so may have been better left at house for review before we left the home. We haves us VRBO many times so compared this was a wonderful home to stay at, except for few exceptions listed above ! Hopefully when we come back thru this one will be available again!

Beautiful Shafter, CA Home

This home is new and very comfortable and is as the pictures describe. The bedrooms are upstairs and it was fine for our 86 and 88 year olds with us.The home is located in a quiet neighborhood and I would definitely stay here again.

The backyard has a nice setup. Turf for the pets to use, the fireplace should have instructions and rocks in it. Ceiling fans in the rooms would be nice, maybe some shutters or tint the bathroom windows. The plants are a bit much for me. Having a plant on the night stand in the master next to the bed, or on the counter in the master bathroom. I brought my mother to meet my buddies daughter, and having her mad me wish the house had chair height toilets, ones that are ADA approved. Overall a nice place to stay,

There were ants, which is not always preventable. But it was clear this was not a new problem, as we found ant bodies all along the trail from the front door leading into the kitchen. The host indicated he would Instacart ant spray, as the pest company was not available due to the holiday. No ant spray ever came. Upon opening the dishwasher within the first few hours of arrival, we were greated with several moldy dishes. We were advised to "throw them away". There were bowls, glasswear, and even a frying pan. That seemed excessive, so we washed the dishes. We were thanked for this. Perhaps the rule of "wash your own dishes" should be very clearly stated as to be done with soap and water and not placed in the dishwasher. The home is beautiful. The rooms well cared for. Despite these few details, we would return to this location. We just didn't appreciate having to do ant and dish duty when we pay a cleaning fee. Perhaps we should get a portion of that returned with our very sizable deposit?

Thank you for your feedback, Heather. We’re glad to hear the home was well cared for and that you would consider returning. The stay occurred during a holiday period when pest control services were unavailable. While we do have regular preventative treatments, occasional ant activity can still occur seasonally. Regarding the dishes, these were unfortunately missed from a prior guest, and we have since reinforced our inspection process to prevent a recurrence. The cleaning fee covers professional turnover before and after each stay and is not tied to maintenance issues, but we appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention as we continue to improve. -Fernando
