Sunsets. Stars. Serenity. Organic Eco-Dome in Terlingua.
***ATTENTION***
Our site is currently in the process of adding more Domes. Construction is active on the opposing side of the property through April 2026. Workers will be on site!
ABOUT THE DOME:
This dome was constructed entirely with the dirt beneath your feet... It's walls brightened with non-toxic, natural-paints... a wooden bed frame... & a luxurious organic mattress with warm, soft, linens. Here... We are committed to the highest quality, natural materials... because your body matters... Our Planet matters. This is not "green-washing"... this is genuine love for this earth & the want to share it.
------------------------------------------------------
ABOUT THE DESERT:
Some see the desert as a barren wasteland... a harsh place where life struggles to exist. But when one spends time in this place, they realize this is furthest from the truth. You see, the desert is not as egoic as the rest of the world. Its beauty is remarkable, yet requires a slowing down to see. It is a place full of contrast...It hosts the brightest of days & darkest of nights...This place seeks to reflect us, to teach us, to nourish us. Come. Its Time You Reconnect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
YOUR SPACE INCLUDES:
-5 Secluded Acres (will be shared with 1 other dome)
-(One) Queen Size, Organic Birch Mattress
-(Two) Eco-Rest Pillows
-Organic Coyuchi Sheets & Natural Wool Comforter
-Side Table with Large Terracotta Lamp
-Marshall Speaker
-Quaint Work Desk with Power Outlet & Small Sitting Stool
-Electricity For Powering BASIC devices
-Cell Service (Carrier Dependent)
-A Clean, dedicated Porta-Potty (stocked with toilet paper)
**There is NO shower/water on site (see notes below)**
**No heating/Air conditioning... (see notes below)**
---------------------------------------------------------
NOTES:
-Our Dome Stays Comfortably Cool in the Summer & Warm in the Winter.
(This is due to the thermal mass of the structure)
-There is NO WATER on site.
You will be need to bring ALL required water.
Be sure to have drinking water & perhaps a gallon or so for hand-washing/teeth brushing.
SHOWER FACILITIES:
**Study Butte RV Park**
When leaving Big Bend, you will pass by Study Butte RV Park. Stop here for clean, warm showers.
They are paid ($5). Cash only. Drop box on side of Turquoise building.
**Terlingua Ranch Lodge**
This spot hosts the Bad Rabbit Cafe (breakfast, lunch, dinner, Wifi), a Pool, Laundry, & Paid Showers.
Showers are ($3). Cash only. Drop box at bathroom entrances.
For paid use of pool/laundry, inquire at the Lodge office.
HEATING/AIR CONDITIONING:
This is the desert. This property is totally off-grid & there is no heating or air-conditioning.
However, due to the way the Dome was constructed, it stays naturally (relatively) cool in the summer, & decently warm in the winter. While linens & a warm-wool comforter are provided, bring extra blankets in winter.
NO FIRES PERMITTED:
Do to extremely dry conditions, we currently do NOT allow fires.
We do allow for you to use a self-contained camper grill for cooking, but NO open fires.
PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT:
We DO NOT COLLECT TRASH of ANY kind.
You are responsible for bringing every piece of trash with you, upon your departure.
------------------------------------------------------
GETTING HERE:
The Dome is located just 0.5 miles off of the paved "Terlingua Ranch Road". This 0.5 mile is a dirt road. You do *NOT* need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to access our property.
--------------------------------------------------------
THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
The Dome is located in Terlingua Ranch, an area of wide-open spaces & quirky accommodations. Multiple mountain ranges surround, creating a canvas for the most breathtaking skies you will ever see.
Located nearby (by West Texas standards):
Big Bend National Park (25 minutes to entrance):
The star of the area. You can spend days exploring this massive park. Santa Elena Canyon, Emory Peak, Mariscal Mine, Boquillas Mineral Hot Springs. Hikers & Bird Enthusiasts... you will be very happy here.
Terlingua Ghost Town (20 minutes):
Check out the historic cemetery & learn of towns mining past, or head to Terlingua Trading Company, a Wild-West Gift Shop that's got a pretty cool vibe. There are numerous Restaurants, Art Galleries, Bars, & other activities. There is also the awesome Cottonwood General Store... Full grocery selection & basic supplies. Espresso Y Poco Mas is nice morning spot to check out before you head to Big Bend, while the Boat House is a local favorite saloon for live music in the evenings.
Little Burro Country Store (10 minutes):
This cool little outpost has a very nice selection of all the basics. Need a Ribeye or an energy drink? Maybe Ice or Lighter fluid? They've got you covered.
Current hours are 10am-7pm, but check in advance!

Ă propos de lâhĂŽte
HÎte : Austin Behrends
Passionate about all things holistic health, I have been interested in sustainability since a young age. I have dabbled with Ayurveda, Love Astrology & Yoga... Breathwork & Meditation. Local, organic foods... Minimal-Waste Living... It's my dream to create a property that is fully self-sustaining... that takes all the things I have experienced thus far in life & bring them together.
Food, Healing, Spirituality, Sustainability, Music.
