Lovely Vancouver

Place is nice. Near noisy corner and bare minimum accouterments, but nice place.

Dear Russell, Thank you for your feedback and for staying with us! I'm glad you found the place nice and had a good time in Vancouver. Regarding the comment about noise — the house is located on a quiet residential inner street, and many guests have shared that it's generally peaceful. That said, we understand that noise sensitivity can vary from person to person, and we’re sorry if it felt less quiet at certain times during your stay. We also appreciate your comment on the amenities, and we’ll continue working to enhance the guest experience. Wishing you all the best, Angie

Not as nice as pictures

The location was not close to supermarkets. The lounge was extremely hard. My husband had a procedure done 2 days prior to our stay. It was very hard for him to get comfortable. The stairs were extremely steep. No blankets were available only quilts which were too hot to put in.

Dear Vicki, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We understand how important comfort is — especially under medical circumstances — and I truly wish we had known about your husband’s condition in advance so we could have offered additional support. While the home’s layout and stairs are clearly shown in the listing photos, I understand that every guest’s needs are different, and I will review how we describe accessibility for clarity. I also appreciate your note about bedding — we typically provide quilts year-round, but I’ll look into offering lighter alternatives in warmer months. Thank you again for staying with us, and I wish you and your husband all the best. Warm regards, Angie

Nice older home in lovely quiet Vancouver neighborhood

We enjoy our stay in this lovely older home in a quiet neighborhood about 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver by car. Parking was easy, as was access to the house. The house is as described (well, except we didn't know someone was living in the separate basement...probably worth including in the description so visitors aren't surprised.) There was plenty of room for our family of four. There's a large master bedroom on the first floor and two bedrooms upstairs. Although it wasn't that hot in Vancouver when we visited, the upstairs bedrooms got quite warm during the day. One of them has a portable air conditioner (so a nice addition would be a portable a/c in the other one.)We enjoyed exploring the neighborhood: just a few blocks down the hill are some truly spectacular Vancouver homes with water views. Just a block away are a few restaurants, a Tim Hortons and a Dairy Queen. A 10-minute walk up Dunbar offers more places to eat, a grocery store and a drug store. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Dear Carl, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! I’m glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay, found the neighborhood peaceful, and appreciated the easy parking and access. It’s great to know the layout worked well for your group, and that you had a chance to explore the local shops and restaurants — the Dunbar area really does have some hidden gems! Thank you also for your helpful feedback. We’ll take a closer look at how we present the information about the self-contained basement unit to ensure there are no surprises. And your suggestion about adding a second portable A/C upstairs is noted — guest comfort is always a top priority, especially during warmer months. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we’d love to welcome you back on your next trip to Vancouver. Warm regards, Angie

Hello! I’m Angie, and I’m proud to welcome you to my Vancouver home. My journey has taken me across the world—from humble beginnings in China to building a life and family in Canada. After years working as a software developer, I followed my heart into real estate and hospitality, where I now do what I love: helping people feel at home.

Hosting gives me the opportunity to meet wonderful travelers and share the comfort and peace of our carefully maintained home. I especially enjoy welcoming families, professionals, and pet lovers — because I know how important it is to find a space that feels safe, clean, and welcoming.

When I’m not hosting or working with clients, I love building tech tools to support real estate investors and reconnect families separated by adoption — a cause close to my heart.

I believe every guest deserves a warm, restful stay, and I take great pride in providing a space where you can truly relax. I look forward to hosting you and hope you’ll feel the same care and comfort here that my own family enjoys.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

We chose this neighborhood because it offers the perfect balance of peace, safety, and accessibility — a true gem in Vancouver. Located in the beautiful Dunbar–Southlands area, it’s a quiet, tree-lined community known for its friendly atmosphere, excellent schools, and walkability.

What I love most is how relaxing it feels here — you’re surrounded by green spaces like Balaclava and Chaldecott Parks, yet still just minutes away from UBC, shops, restaurants, and transit. It’s a wonderful area for families, professionals, and anyone who wants to enjoy Vancouver like a local. Whether you're walking your dog, biking to the beach, or just enjoying a coffee at a nearby café, the neighborhood always feels calm and welcoming.

This is more than just a place to stay — it’s a place to feel at home.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Our home combines space, comfort, and location in a way that's hard to find in Vancouver — especially this close to UBC. Unlike many listings, we offer:

A full upper-level suite that feels more like a house than a rental, with private access, no shared spaces, and room to truly spread out.

Pet-friendly hospitality, with a fully fenced backyard where your furry friends can feel at home — a rare find in the area!

Free on-site parking and in-suite laundry — conveniences that many local rentals charge extra for (or don’t offer at all).

Flexible layout ideal for families, professionals, or extended stays — whether you're visiting for work, school, or vacation.

Location in a quiet, safe, and green neighborhood, just minutes to UBC, transit, parks, and local shops — giving you both tranquility and accessibility.

We’re not just offering a stay — we’re offering a space that feels like home.
