For the location, we would rate this a 5. Easy walking distance to theaters, beach, park and walking trails, restaurants and shops. The place was true to the photos. However, a few details detracted from our enjoyment. Uneven steps were awkward to unload bags and a significant challenge for people with mobility challenges. They do need to deep clean the cobwebs on the ceiling and the dirt on window sills. We could not open some of the windows but the owner gladly scheduled time to stop in to help, which we appreciated.
Overall, a very nice place - close to the water, a quiet neighborhood and an especially good location. It's very close to the Shaw Festival theaters - so easy to walk and no need to pay for parking. We did find the window air conditions to be a bit noisy and the last step into the house from the outside is quite awkward - it's abnormally high.
The Cottage was spotlessly clean and adorable. Perfect for two. So many thoughtful touches throughout. Very close to everything Niagara On The Lake offers, yet very quiet and relaxing. We really enjoyed the well tended back yard. We felt like we were in a Disney movie. lolThe squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, even a woodchuck came out to visit., too many birds to list. Just beautiful, will book here again and soon!
An absolutely charming cottage and just perfect for a girls long weekend away. Great location for visiting the waterfront, town, restaurants, shops and wineries. Avondale Dairy Bar is a must!!! Peter and Debra were great to work with and quick to respond. Highly recommend!
Great potential except for the construction project nextdoor
The property is located away from the hustle and bustle of Queen Street. We were looking forward to some peace and quiet. However the next door neighbor was doing construction on his property right outside the bedroom windows. The house lacks good AC and it was warm and humid when we were there. We could not enjoy the backyard and the lake breezes because of the noise next door. Had we known those things, we probably wouldâve chose to stay somewhere else. Too bad as it has the potential to be a great getaway spot.
I cannot say enough good things about this cottage. It is a five minute walk up to Queen St with all the history, shops and restaurants. The lake is a two minute walk. It is convenient to all the wineries.
I (Peter) have lived in the Niagara area for all my life. Debra my beautiful wife and soulmate has lived in Niagara since the age of 16. She was born and raised in Nottingham England. We were married in 2018, two years after the passing of my wife Darla. Debra shares that same passion for excellence in the maintenance and decor of our cottage(s). We look forward to meeting you at the cottage! Peter & Debra
We have always wanted to own a property in 'Old Town' Niagara-on-the-Lake because we love the architecture of historic houses and the lovely gardens in town.
