Octavia Street Cottage

Ce cottage de fusil de chasse vieux de cent ans est un cottage classique de la Nouvelle-Orléans avec des mises à jour modernes. Les planchers de bois franc et les hauts plafonds abritent des ventilateurs de plafond et les fenêtres d'origine fournissent beaucoup de lumière naturelle.

En entrant dans la grande salle, une télévision à écran plat avec câble de base, wifi haut débit et sonorisation. Le salon a un canapé-lit Queen mène à la cuisine complète ouverte avec une table à manger en chêne. Belle lumière et plafonds de 11 pieds et ventilateurs de plafond sont dans toutes les chambres.

La grande pièce mène à la chambre à coucher avec un élégant ensemble de chambre Art Deco et un nouvel ensemble de matelas Queen haut de gamme en mousse à mémoire de forme, avec une literie neuve et des housses de couette délicieusement douces. La chambre mène à la salle de bains mise à jour avec baignoire à pattes pour laisser tremper vos pieds danser et rêver.

Il y a un placard ouvert en face de la chambre avec des serviettes douces à haute densité de fils. La porte arrière donne sur la véranda, ma pièce préférée de la maison, idéale pour emporter votre cocktail sous le ventilateur de plafond tourbillonnant. Le patio en brique pourrait être votre prochain lieu de cuisson des écrevisses avec une table et des chaises confortables pour ces beaux après-midi languissants. Le studio à l'arrière a une laveuse / sécheuse. Célébrez le centre-ville de la Nouvelle-Orléans avec une cuisine fabuleuse à distance de marche dans toutes les directions, y compris les meilleurs poboys de la ville. St. Charles Avenue, Audubon Park et le fleuve Mississippi se trouvent tous à moins de 10 pâtés de maisons du chalet.

Great location!

Amy and her husband addressed the few small issues we had as best they could from far away. Great location, comfy bed, very clean, lots of linens, and fully stocked kitchen. Great place to stay in a neighborhood and pretend we still live in our favorite city!

Wonderful Uptown home

Amy's place was truly wonderful--quiet and cozy and in a nice neighborhood. The location was ideal--just a few blocks from Tulane and Audubon Park, as well as the bus and the streetcar. Getting into the Quarter was a breeze! Amy was a communicative and gracious host. Highly recommended--would definitely stay here again!

Great location and very comfortable !

My husband and I stayed at the Octavia cottage for the weekend of Tulane graduation. The location was wonderful, because we were able to walk to several restaurants and shops as well as two different grocery stores. When we weren't busy with graduation activities, we were able to relax on the screen porch and patio in back which was lovely. The price is great and it is wonderful to know there are options like this in New Orleans. We will definitely stay again!

I came for two months to visit my children. The wee cottage was just right in every way - lovely neighborhood, totally responsive host, fabulous little courtyard and living space. If she will have me, I’d come back any time!

A darling house in a great neighborhood

We really enjoyed this lovely one bedroom home. It was clean and well equipped. Had a sweet backyard. Short walk to great restaurants and shopping. I would have given it a five except the bed was very soft and the shower set up was cramped. Overall loved the stay. And would recommend this house and the host

The claw foot tub also presents its challenges. ( I love bathing there.). We do plan to modernize the bathroom when we are able. So happy we decided to stay here!

The photos don't do justice to this cute, shotgun style house. This was the perfect place for our first visit to NOLA, close enough to the streetcar to get to everything but a quiet and safe retreat to relax. My husband and I walked to Magazine street to eat at local restaurants a couple of times and shopped at the Whole Foods so that we could cook some of our meals in the kitchen of the cottage. This is close to Audobon Park which is just beautiful. I loved the zoo! Thanks so much to our hosts. Don't hesitate to book this haven on Octavia St!

Lovely cottage, excellent location

My husband, mother-in-law and I stayed in this lovely little cottage for the Thansgiving break. We really enjoyed the neighborhood which is within walking distance of Magazine Street and Whole Foods. It is a shotgun cottage with access of bathroom through the bedroom, so more suited to a couple of family with small kids. The patio at the back is lovely, as is the simple decor. If you arrive late at night, bring a flashlight as the lockbox is in a dark corner. The bath tub was a little tricky for my elderly mother-in-law, but otherwise everything was perfect at a decent rate. Would recommend for other visitors.

A great uptown choice.

A charming well decorated cottage in a friendly and safe uptown neighbourhood. Well equipped and cool with two air conditioners. Shops and restaurants nearby and one does not really need a car, though walking is difficult in the summer months. All in all a nice choice and communication with the owner was easy and pleasant. No real complaints. You should note that to access the bathroom it is necessary for users of the sofa bed to go through the main bedroom. Recommended.

Perfect way to experience New Orleans!

Can't say enough good things about this little shotgun house - located in a neat established neighborhood with great amenities (grocery, restaurants, and more!) and in easy proximity to the Convention Center, French Quarter, and more without having to stay right in the hullabaloo or pay ridiculous hotel prices, parking, and wifi fees. The house itself is ADORABLE, furnished comfortably, and had everything we needed - comfy bed and sofa bed with plenty of quality cotton linens, fully equipped kitchen with a large dining table for working in the evening (we stayed for a conference at the convention center), an adorable bathroom and closet setup with thought to needed space for toiletries and such, plenty of good towels, an adorable screened porch and private backyard for relaxing after a long day. Felt safe in this neighborhood, and periodically left the car and Ubered to other parts of the city where parking or safety were a concern. Would DEFINITELY want to stay here again when traveling to NOLA. Amy is fantastic - communicative, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed, as well as suggestions of things to do/see, places to eat, etc! Highly recommend!!1

Great little house. Very clean, well appointed, convenient location!

We had a very nice stay. Quiet neighborhood but only three blocks from Whole Foods and District Coffee on Magazine St. Even closer to Octavia Books and breakfast/brunch at Toast one block from house. Easy walk to Audubon Park.

Octavia Street Cottage

I came with my daughter to visit Tulane. The set-up was perfect, a very comfortable bed and separate bedroom for me and pull-out sofa for her. We enjoyed having breakfast in the back patio and loved the location. Quiet residential street in walking distance to everything,including great restaurants and shops, Tulane and public transportation. New Orleans is a great city and we hope to return soon!

Amy's grandfather was born just across Magazine on Arabella, and she went to Lusher, and later Tulane for graduate school. She finds new things to savor every times she comes home and loves the way this neighborhood keeps getting better without losing it's sense of slow-paced charm.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

I've always loved the shotgun cottage, simple with nice lines and no extraneous spaces, just enough room. Octavia street has all the things I love in a house including the ceiling fans and the screened porch for lounging and reading the Lagnaippe section of the paper to find out where to go for hot music or the Gambit for the best new restaurants in town. I love the old brick of the stoop and the fireplace and of course the claw foot tub, big enough for soaking those tired Jazz Fest feet.

We fell in love with the neighborhood when we stayed here years ago, on Annunciation and discovered the pleasures of biking in Audubon Park under the live oak trees and riding or walking the bike path on the levee along the river and within walking distance of fabulous restaurants and bars.
