The recovered 200-pound bronze bell of the Fitzgerald is on display here. Open May through October.
Whitefish Point Bird Observatory â 11 miles, 18 minutes
One of the premier raptor and songbird migration sites in North America. Every spring, thousands of hawks, owls, eagles, falcons, and warblers funnel through Whitefish Point on their migration north â a designated Important Bird Area and a genuine bucket-list experience for birders and nature lovers alike. The spring migration peaks in April and May and is completely free to visit.
Yooperlites on the Lake Superior Shoreline â steps from the cabin
Paradise and the surrounding Lake Superior shoreline is one of the best places in the world to hunt Yooperlites â rare sodalite-rich stones that glow a vivid orange under UV light. The rocks are right here, and most guests have never heard of them before they arrive.
