Eric’s place was very clean and well stocked with towels. There was plenty of room for our 2 families to spread out and also hang out. There was a coffee maker, toaster, plenty of pots and pans, and very new fridge and stove. The house is right next to a general store too! Kids enjoyed playing pool and being only 13 minutes from Okemo made it so easy to wake up and get to the mountain. Thanks, Eric!

The owner, Eric, thoughtfully sent us a detailed list of local attractions, restaurant recommendations, and information about the Belmont General Store next door. It was fantastic—full of local cheeses, breads, and wines. We’re also now officially obsessed with the Mount Holly Brewery. The house was cozy and comfortable for our group, with a newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms. The home was very well maintained—clean, tidy, and clearly cared for. The pool table was fun although the slightly small size of the room did make it more challenging. I had read a prior review mentioning an issue with the heat; however, that could not have been farther from our experience. The house was extremely warm throughout our stay. Eric has also put great thought into the décor, including a charming bear theme that adds to the authentic Vermont farmhouse feel. You can tell this is a well-loved property.Eric also followed up during our stay to make sure everything was going well. As a frequent VRBO renter, a real estate broker, and a property owner who also rents out my own home, I sincerely appreciated the attention. We are big skiers and have rented many homes in the area, and we found this location worked very well for getting to Okemo. The town itself was extremely charming. Our dog especially loved his walks around the neighborhood. We truly appreciated the opportunity to enjoy this home and would absolutely consider renting it again.

Eric,I will try to be patient but I have to say our experience was disappointing. We arrived after the stipulated arrival time. We had invited my sister and her family to visit us for dinner. We found the property to be a construction site with ladders all over, and multiple people on the roof, and a construction van and debris around the house. So, we unloaded and parked on the back side of the library across the street. Upon arrival, we found the dishwasher full of dirty dishes and the refrigerator had someone else's food in it. My wife asked if were were at the right house. I went to bed that night in a sweater and socks because I thought I was getting sick. It wasn't until I woke at 5am Saturday that I realized the house was cold. I searched around the house until I found a thermostat and realized the heat was turned off. There were no instructions with the house as to where the thermostat was or how to program it but I managed to turn on the heat. I later reset the thermostat to 60 degrees when we left but I would encourage you to provide written instructions to future guests on how to operate the heating system. Also, regarding your comment about our being the test guests for the new bathroom.. Unfortunately, the toilet in the first floor bathroom doesn't work and didn't work from the time we arrived. We tried a plunger. I recommend you contact a plumber. Also, the first floor bedroom doesn't have curtains, and two of the bedrooms don't have dressers or stands

I always strive to provide my guests a great stay and have had hundreds of people stay at my house without issue. Robert, unfortunately, was the first guest ever to be so uncommunciative that I could not fix the issues he asked about. He has also lied multiple times in this review.
I reached out to Robert ahead of his time of stay to inform him that there would be roofers finishing a project that went over because of a storm during that week, as I just replaced the entire roof and installed standing seam snow belts, valleys, and dormers. I had instructed the roofers to leave by 2pm EST in anticipation of Robert's arrival time, I do not know why they failed to follow instructions, but as soon as Robert informed me that they were still there, I was calling everyone I could to get the situation resolved, The only person I could not call was Robert, as he left a non-functioning phone number with VRBO. The rofoers left within about an hour of Robert's arrival at 3:30PM. I truly did my absolute best to manage that situation and resolved it as quickly as possible so Robert could enjoy his stay.
From there, I informed Robert that it would be cold that night and that he could turn the thermostat on in the pool room. I send him that message well before nighttime at 4:53pm. He did not reply to that message, nor did he reply to any subsequent messages or information that I communicated to him during his stay. This is the first of several falsehoods that Robert has said in this review.
Other falsehoods include the downstairs toilet not functioning; the downstairs bathroom was just completely remodeled and I have a plumber on speed dial for any issues that may arise. Not only did Robert not tell me he thought the toilet was not working, but he apparently does not know how to use one properly, as I did send my plumber out after he left and it works perfectly fine.
He further misrepresents the downstairs bedroom - the curtains are as photographed and have not been modified. I will be adding blackouts on top of those curtains to provide guests more options in the future, but to say that there are no curatins is objectively false.
Overall, Robert was a completely noncommunicative guest that only communicated with insults and rudeness from the very beginning, if he chose to say anything at all. I would go to the end of the earth to fix a problem for a guest if brought up to me, as I did in the singular issue that Robert had during his stay, and I am extremely disappointed that he chose to misprotray my hosting in such a blatantly false manner. I have hosted 100s of happy guests at my property over the years and will continue to do so for any future guests.
