This house was only a 2 minute walk from the beach! The space was perfect and everyone was happy with their rooms. The kids enjoyed the pool and there was plenty of space to relax around the pool as well. We enjoyed our stay.

Amazing vacation

This rental was fantastic! The house suited my family of five and our friends (family of four) wonderfully. It was great to have the pool and the beach (very near by). The location of the house was great because it was on the less busy part of the island. We’ll be back!

Beautiful Home close to the Beach

This home was perfect for our girls weekend. There were tons of bedrooms and great sleeping arrangements. The house offered a great pool and outdoor area as well as a large open concept living and dining room. It was perfect for a large group. The only thing I would be cautious of is the steep stairs going down to the lower level.

Awesome location to Beach!

This location was perfect for our girls trip! The only downfall was the set of stairs. VERY dangerous and scary to walk down. Other than that- everything was perfect!

We absolutely loved the outside space. It was great for a large group.

We loved most aspects of the home. The kitchen however is subpar for sure. We like to cook in and the kitchen needs a full makeover. The rest of the house is cute and updated. We had an issue with a mouse in the kitchen as well. All that being said, we had an amazing week and made the most of it.

Vaca tybee

Was nice, looked a little run down on the outside. Loved the pool but when we got there Pool was dirty, lots on sand and leaves on bottom. Skimmer was full of debris. We ended up emptying it. Inside of house very nice. Plenty of room for 11 adults. Kitchen pretty well stocked. Needed to be better organized and definitely more forks. Also the woodwork on the upstairs kitchen floor needs to be fixed, people kept tripping on the piece of flooring sticking up between rooms. Down stairs kitchen had no utensils so you had to keep moving stuff up and down. Petty I know. Easy access to beach. All in all place was nice.

If you are not expecting much this will work

The place needs work. ALL the pool chairs were broken along with the bar-b-q. The deck needs paint. We weeded the outside shower. There were weeds around the pool. The inside not much better. Water stains on the ceiling. Dated everything. With a little TLC this list wouldn't be bad. It's not the ocean. More like a 3–5-minute walk. With this location it was morning sunrises for the beach. You have to travel to the other side of the island to catch sunset. It is coinvent to the local grocery store and walking distance to beach restaurant and nightly ice cream. It was nice having the pool and outside shower. Hopefully they will give this listing a little love.

Mother's Day Trip 2024

Outside was amazing - we were steps to the beach and the pool area was a big hit with my granddaughter. The house was older but renovated. Ceiling downstairs had spots like from a water leak and and places on sheetrock that were patched and not painted. Overall the place needed a thorough cleaning. Chimney upstairs leaked when it rained. The one big negative and it was prob my fault for not paying better attention but none of the bathrooms were connected to a bedroom. Kitchen wares could have used an upgrade but we brought our own stuff so we didn't use much. Grill was old and very rusty. My husband spent a day cleaning it and getting the rust off so we could grill burgers. I would definitely stay here again. But for what we paid there are nicer places. Coffee shops you have to drive to but there is a couple walkable restaurants near by.

Great Large Space for Multiple or Extended Families, Super Close to the Beach

This was a great property with tons of space for our two families- one family of 5, one family of 4. What we loved: -Super close to the beach, didn't have to cross traffic. You even had a small glimpse of the ocean from the top deck. -Huge space and many sleeping and gathering spaces- more than enough room for us. -Pool was a great amenity. We were afraid it would be too cold to use when we went at the beginning of April but it was fine. -Great aesthetic and decor- bright and beachy. What we didn't love: -The kitchen cabinets' interior need a good cleaning. They were empty, but grimy and dirty inside. -Beach towels would have been a great extra to have in the house- they're bulky to pack and expensive to buy while there. -Stocking games or cards in the house would have been appreciated for the rainy days. Don't expect much extra in the house (understandable for the vacant days). -The map on this website makes this house location look a few houses in from Butler Ave, though the house is right on the corner of Butler (busy street). We did not hear traffic noise at all though when we were in the house, and the entrances are on the side street, but on Butler. Overall we had a great time at this rental and would rent it again!

Pretty good

Our stay was good for what we were looking for! The property needs some maintenance state toon as several handles were falling off furniture, ladders to bunk beds need repairing, the dining table chairs had arms fall off, the kitchen drawers are pretty difficult to open & the closet door fell off hinges (on my daughter none-the-less) - company was good about sending out someone to fix door but overall property needs maintenance. Ice maker upstairs didn’t make ice nearly as much or as fast as downstairs fridge did but was very nice with 2 fridges. Pantry was nice & spacious upstairs as well! Yost kitchen also well stocked with drink pitchers, tableware but could use more cooking/baking sheets/dishes (only found 1 baking sheet & no casserole dishes) We didn’t really use 2nd kitchen except for fridge. Pool was great - except please add some sort of cleaning service or a skimmer as we had no way to clean out pool. We all loved the ping pong table & there was more than enough beach gear (chairs, bogey boards, sand toys & an awesome beach cart!!) Also property management needs to update trash days as they instructed were Tuesday & Saturday but were actually Tuesday & Friday (which makes a big difference as cans were overflowing when we got there until picked up Tuesday). All in all we had a great time as we were looking for a place to Han with our group with a pool & right near beach! We had 3 families (6 adults & 6 kids ages 5-10) & everyone slept comfortably! We would recommend with recommended maintenance!

Worth The Trip!

We enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were very comfortable and access to the beach was perfect. There were a few things which needed correcting, especially the mouse that chewed through our 2 unopened bags of floured tortillas! Get rid of the mouse and I would give this rental 2 thumbs up!😁

A great house for a family vacation

We enjoyed our stay. The house is on a quiet street with a short walk to the beach, making it easy to go back and forth for meals and breaks. We found that beach access was easiest from the next street over rather than the dunes at the end of our street. I recommend renting an umbrella and chairs if you want to make life even easier. It was setup for us in the morning and removed in the late afternoon. The pics of the property show a beach wagon and chairs. These were never found. In terms of the house, the kids (age range from 9 to 13) loved having the downstairs to themselves. However, the interior stairs are quite steep and should not be used by anyone with mobility issues. We were happy to have a grill out back. We were told it was propane but it is charcoal. It needs some maintenance as the handle was detached from the lid. We managed. The pool was lovely and well-kept. However, it gets dark in the pool area in the evening. I'm not sure if the exterior lights that were out. The location was great since we were just a few blocks from several take out options and the IGA. The kids especially loved going for ice cream at the Sugar Shack. Overall, the house was comfortable and we'd happily stay here again.

Work From Home Get-Away

We were looking for a new “work from home” address to get away from the same location we’d been in for two months. Tybee Island was a little further than we usually go, but the perfect place for us. There were just four of us and we all had plenty of room to spread out. The pool on property was perfect. And the location, proximity to the beach, great. Suggestions: we could have seen from a map, but it might be good to better advertise that the house is located right on the Main Street through the island and there is public parking literally outside the door. It wasn’t too busy when we were there, but I can’t imagine how crazy and loud it could be. The chairs around the pool were not in great shape with one breaking while we were sitting in it! The chairs were not comfortalbe. There were a few beach chairs to use, which was an added bonus, but several on site were broken and unusable. We would have brought at least one or two of our own had we known - better communication about what is available for use would be good. Other than these things, the house was clean and we really appreciated the easy and safe check in procedures and the ease of reserving the space since we did it in less than 24 hours before our arrival.

great house, great pool great location

Loved this place! Great pool area. Lots of room for everyone. Love the decor. Easy walk to the beach. The kitchen could be stocked little bit better and the dining table fixed but overall awesome. Air went out and they came right away and fixed it. Hope to go back next year!

Great HQ for beach, pool and Tybee time

Great house situated a very short walk to the beach. The pool is also really great. We had a nice time mixing in beach and pool time, along with some grilling and general hanging around the house. Very convenient short cabs into town for nights out or to grab things at the grocery/liquor store. I wish the house had provided beach towels and been clearer about how many beach chairs there were (there are a few there, but the management company told me they didn't know based on the photos - some disconnect there), and maybe added an beach umbrella or two. Similarly, the kitchen was completely empty so we had to start from scratch in getting the pantry going in order to cook. It added expense and was wasteful. It wouldn't cost much to stock the pantry with typical items, or to provide beach towels for the house. Otherwise, the house was really great for our group and you can't beat the location.

Nice home for extended families

The Island Star was a nice property. Our suggestions for a perfect stay: Heat the pool - we would have gladly paid to do so With two kitchens, please update your kitchen supplies: pans, cookie sheets, large mixing bowls, etc. We did see several cockroaches in the lower level during our stay. Several of the plastic pool chairs had dry rot. Overall, the property suited our needs. Thanks.
