Alison and David have spent several years visiting and living in Whitby. They are well travelled and have and do spend a lot of their leisure time travelling.

When they travel they look for the quality end of the market saying that you wouldn't leave the comfort of home to stay somewhere which isn't as good.

Alison moved from Dublin to Yorkshire some 30 years ago and looks forward to one day owning a property in Dublin where her two sisters and Mum still live.

David is more local, from Leeds in Yorkshire. Though he has lived in the area all his life, his formative life was spent sailing the World in the Merchant Navy. Having achieved his first big goal of visiting Australia at the tender age of 17, he has visited and spent time in all four corners of the Globe. The sea is the greatest attraction and he can tell you the name and destination of any ship passing the The Ness using his App to keep up with the shipping news.

The couple are very much hands on with their Short Term Letting business with other apartments in Wakefield and the lovely Holiday Let Rock Pipit, adjacent to the lovely area of Wets Cliff in Whitby, where they spend regular time on the North Yorkshire coast.

Rock Pipit had just what we wanted for a Holiday Let. Having its own entrance was a boon, and ground floor meant that most people can access the property without difficulty. Outside space is so rare in Whitby, so a small seating area at the front and a private enclosed patio area to the rear was a massive unique extra.
We have made Rock Pipit a cosy apartment suitable for all year round visits which welcomes well behaved dogs.
