Despite having planned out our check-in, the host never showed up to let us in. We and VRBO were unable to reach him. This was the day before a national holiday in Aruba, so we were forced to book a last minute hotel at very high rates.

Located in the heart of Oranjestad, centrally located-- if youre able to walk, this is your best stay in Aruba. One block from water and beach within minutes of so many restaurants. A peek-a-view of ocean view in front, private patio in back off bedroom. Perfect for a couple or two people. Aur conditioning and fans. Interior is a little darker but actually felt comfortable when being in the Aruba sun all day. Extremely private. Would recommend!

We were very pleased with our stay at this location.Our Host Fred was very helpful and we enjoyed visiting and talking to him. The location was great. Close enough to walk down town and to the beach, but very quiet in the evening which was wonderful.

Lovely apartment with quiet courtyard

The apartment was very clean and meet our needs. Close to town, the beach and restaurant. Fred the owner was so helpful and accommodating. He was also our driver to get groceries and to the airport. We truly enjoy our visit and hope to come back!

Walking distance to the beach

We enjoyed our stay at the Villa. It was clean and cozy, and on the second floor we could see the water of the Carribean. Fred was always very helpful to us. We are looking forward to stay her a gain on our next trip to Aruba

Best VRBO we've experienced!

The property was as advertised. And very comfortable. We were close to lots of beacheds, restaurants and activities. But the best part of our stay was the experience with the hosts. They live on site and were allways helpful. By the end of the stay, we felt that we had found some new friends! We would HIGHLY recommend this place!

Perfect Perfect Perfect

My husband and I wanted a little getaway time from the cold, rainy Atlanta, Georgia weather. Aruba is our go to place but usually we take the resort route. We’ve used VRBO successfully in the past and this property didn’t disappoint. The villa was located minutes away from the airport, restaurants, groceries and a quiet little beach just as advertised. The garden plants on the property were lush and beautifully cared for. Our apartment was perfect for the two of us. Fred’s long-lost-friend personality was the icing on the cake. He met us at check in and was a wealth of information on the area during our week stay. We will definitely book with him again in the future and we’ve recommended the spot to friends and family. Thank you Fred for providing such a great home away from home.

We absolutely fell in love with Aruba and this accommodation!

We loved our two weeks on the island and were so happy and comfortable at Lechateau! The apartment was perfectly appointed with everything we could possibly need. We enjoyed many meals we prepared ourselves, but appreciated the close proximity to fabulous restaurants when we chose to dine out. Our host, Fred was amazing and made us feel so welcome immediately! Martina kept our little home away from home neat and clean and I couldn’t be more grateful for all of her hard work. It was such a wonderful experience, from arrival to to a reluctant departure!

Great Location, Great Owner, Lacked some basics.

The location is great. If you love the beach, you cross the street and you are on an uncrowded scenic beach. There is moderate noise from planes landing, but i liked watching come in.The beach karma was great!!! It's also close to the shopping area. The Bedroom and bed was very comfortable and roomy. The sofa was a plus. The Bathroom was nice except there was no place to put your stuff. There needs to be a small table or something to hold stuff. And there was only one water line running into the shower so you couldn't make the water warmer. The Kitchen was roomy and clean but incomplete. There is no drain plug and it is missing some of the accessories i am used to in other rentals. Things like measuring cups, strainers serving ware etc. We asked Fred for stuff and he was good about getting it but i didn't want to keep asking. 1 yard sale could get everything needed. The appliances were in good working order. The living room was comfortable and the TV seemed to have a ton of channels but we didn't watch much so i don't know if it is enough or not. All in, it's a good affordable stay but lacks a few basics... If you can get past that, it is a good value in Aruba.
