Birez Cabin is a simple, cozy, "forest glamping" stay designed for time outside. Whether you're visiting for a romantic getaway, a small family and friends trip, or a quiet solo reset, Birez Cabin offers the space and privacy to truly unwind.
Forest glamping = “a little roughing it”: This is a real nature stay, not a hotel or typically Airbnb; expect dirt on your boots, bugs (they live here), wildlife sounds at night, and the occasional weather surprise. If you need spotless perfection, full connectivity, and push-button comfort, you’ll be happier in town.
What Guests Love:
• Complete privacy surrounded by 40 acres of forest and nature with trails for walking, exploring, and stargazing
• Sleeping for 4–5: queen bed + double bed in loft (stairs) + twin pull-out
• Kitchenette: mini fridge/freezer, sink, utensils, bar seating for two
• Fire pit evenings under the stars
• Shaded gazebo + outdoor seating for slow mornings or sunset drinks
• Wi-Fi available so you can stay connected if needed
• Pet-friendly with room to roam
This cabin comfortably sleeps up to 5 guests, making it perfect for couples, small families, or a peaceful weekend with friends.
Good to know:
• You are staying in nature, you may hear, see, and smell animals and bugs.
• Loft beds are accessed by stairs.
• The washroom is shared and located nearby.
• To stay warm during winter, you will need to use a diesel heater and a wood stove. You should keep the fire in the stove going throughout the night. If you've never used these before, watch a couple of YouTube videos before arrival.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
• Bed linens and pillows
• Toilet paper
• BBQ grill (bring your own charcoal)
• BBQ utensils
• First aid kit
• Firewood (bring your own firestarters and bring dry wood in winter)
WHAT TO BRING
• Extra dry firewood
• Drinking water
• Food and anything for meal prep
• Charcoal for grilling
• Firestarters
• Axe if you want to cut more wood
• Extra blankets (especially for cool nights)
• Bug spray, sunscreen, and garbage bags
This is a rural, car-first location. Public transit is limited in the area. We recommend arriving with a vehicle and downloading maps/check-in info before you lose service.
We want you to feel totally prepared for your forest getaway. Please read these before booking:
Heating & Firewood: Bring dry firewood and firestarters. We try to provide but if there's been snow/rain the wood won't burn well. Diesel starts full; if you run out, you’ll need to refill.
Temperature & Seasons: The bunkie cabin is available year-round and is insulated, has a wood stove and a diesel heater that keeps things warm all year round. If you are coming in winter or intermit weather, we are assuming you "know what you're in for" and will pack and dress appropriately to be in the bush. In winter, the road may not be plowed and could require a short walk in. Bring extra blankets for chilly nights.
Wi-Fi & Cell Service: We now have Wi-Fi available. Being in the forest, it may still go out occasionally, so we wouldn't recommend planning to work much while you are here.
Water & Electricity: On-site tap and cabin sink use unfiltered well water (cold). No filtered drinking water provided; please bring your own. Solar-powered lighting and basic power only.
Washroom & Shower: A shared washroom nearby with warm/cold shower, toilet, and sink, plus an outdoor well-access tap.
Garbage: There are no large garbage bins and no roadside pickup. Please be prepared to bring your garbage to the dump during your stay, or you will need to bring it home with you to dispose of it. If any garbage is left behind, a $75.00 cleanup, transfer, and dump fee will be charged.
Guest Verification: If you have not booked with Airbnb, before you arrive, you will be asked to complete guest verification through the third-party provider Truvi. You will also be given the choice between a security deposit and a non-refundable damage waiver. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Truvi will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Please do so prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process.
